Posting this because UAA announced yesterday that we added UT-Martin to the 2019 schedule....now, hold onto your panties...I didn't realize we're playing Miami in 2019....in Orlando.

Gators to play UT-Martin in 2019

http://www.gatorsports.com/2018/02/gators-play-ut-martin-2019/

Florida has added UT-Martin to its 2019 football schedule.

The Skyhawks are playing the Gators in The Swamp on Sept. 7, according to UT-Martin. This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

UF now has three non-conference games scheduled for 2019 — Miami at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Aug. 31, UT-Martin the following week and Florida State on Nov. 30 in Gainesville.

Agree! Honestly, I'm not sure why we keep scheduling them. We certainly don't "need" them on our schedule. I like that it's in Orlando. I'd like to see an Orlando, Jacksonville, or Tampa opener like this...but against a different team. F*ck Miami!

We need to ditch Miami. It's not the competition that I care about. I simply see no need to legitimize their existence.

I agree except for these openers ("kickoff games"). It's a good experience for the players, often a bowl like atmosphere (they get gift bags/swag from the sponsors), and it's good for recruiting. You better believe if Saban is doing it there is a benefit to it - he's very calculating and isn't going to put his team at any sort of disadvantage.

I'm sure there is benefits to the school...not going to argue that. Just from my perspective i don't like them as much. Take UF/Mich for example...to me that game is sooooo much bigger if it's in The Swamp or The Big House. Two of the most iconic stadiums in college football and we meet in Dalllas? Meh...

True...but that is going to require a home-and-home...which means we'll lose the "12th" game (i.e. our 7th home game) one of those years. I'm not sure if the ticket prices are hiked for these type of games and the visiting school gets a cut, but we do specifically use the 7th home game money to pay for woman's sports (or we used to). I get it though, I'd rather see the games on campus too (I went to the Big House last year the week after they beat our asses. Very good experience, great stadium).

Not surprised by the added cupcake to the schedule, who is the other OOC opponent? Probably another easy team. Plus this year we get Auburn back on the schedule, love to beat their ass as well.
