Gator baseball is starting tonight woo! WOO!! WOOooo!! WOOooo!!!

I'll try to grab some drinks at The Social this afternoon and head over there early to see some of the hoopla with the national championship banner unveiling etc.!

Yes, yes I know, it's not football... but It's awfully fun winning every once and a while. Of course, that's what I said about this coming basketball season and now I'm about ready to completely give up on that. So, here I am ready to bandwagon on the baseball team again.

I think the season will ride on whether J.J. can get his magic back or not. I'm hoping we can see a few more hits and homers from the team this year. We will probably need them to get back to Omaha.

Any thoughts from the 2 or 3 other gator baseball fans out there? Anyone else going? I believe it's going to be streamed on WatchESPN app/espn3 by the way.

I'm definitely looking forward to Gator baseball season as well! Would love to see us pull off the repeat. Didn't someone say that it would put us in a very small group of programs that have won multiple championships in football, basketball, and baseball? Or would it make us the only one?

I'm also hoping a decent number of our games will end up being televised so I can catch some this season!

Go Gators!

I will be there this weekend. Weather is supposed to be good. Agree we could use more power hitting this year, just not sure where it will come from. With Liput out and I have not heard for how long, we will have new faces in the infield. Interested in seeing if any of our young pitchers have improved from last year and can actually contribute this year. We had great pitching last year but it was thin, like 4 or 5 deep only. Really need some of those young guys to step up. Also interested in the 2 frosh catchers. Hope one of them can show some hitting ability so JJ can really concentrate on his hitting.

We would become the only one. Definitely a select group.

Freshman inf. Brady McConnell hit 3 HRs in HS senior year ... hits a HR in his first college game.:D
Gators hit 2-HRs, 4 doubles.
Singer allowed only 2 hits in 7 innings. SO-8, walked-1.
Reliever butler SO 4 of 5 batters he faced.?

I agree that we need the "old" JJ swinging. Our hitting was anemic last year.
Keenan Bell played 1b ; he weighs 230 lbs, so he might add some power?

I definitely didn't think Sully could win the big one. Not in a million years. Felt that way about Dabo, too.

I’ve been pro Sully from the get go. Getting to Omaha is very difficult, which he’s shown he’s very good at. Once you’re there, any team can win in double elimination tournament when they are all so good. The 1 seed rarely wins.

It’s not about being right or wrong for me. It just felt really good to get that champship, especially before criminoles. I don’t expect us to repeat, but I like our chances of winning another in the next 3-4 years.

All our big guys are pitchers. Couldn't we get some big swat muscle-guys?
