I like the original list but think Beal should be at the 2. Vernon Maxwell never made an all-star team. Agree with most everything else. I would argue that Noah should be the 5. And he was expected to be the 1st or 2nd pick if he had declared as a sophomore. The dude was in the MVP race just a few years ago in the NBA as well. Sorry Walk.

1. White Chocolate
2. Beal
3. Miller
4. Horford
5. Noah

I think this is the only list I have seen on here where everyone was an NBA all-star

I was bummed when he left Chicago. He was the heart and soul of that team. Hoiberg turned his back on him. The Bulls really suck now.
Got to suck to fix the problem. Hated to see Noah leave but his body is broken and needed to happen

Wilt Chamberlain didn’t have much of a jump shot, so I won’t put him at center on my all-time college or NBA list.
That's just a dumb post. I inserted Noah above a guy many UF fans feel was our best center ever, Neal Walk.

Noah has unique skills of his own, a high hoops IQ, a raging motor and I want him on my team. Do I want the ball in his hands with the game on the line? Are you kidding me? No. He had no post moves and his shot from anywhere on the floor, even five feet, was horrible. You know that, I know that, anyone with half a brain knows it.

Lol, he released the ball on his shot from his flipping chest. He probably had the easiest shot to block of any 7-footer I've ever known.

Most of ya'll are ignoring or forgetting Ronnie Williams, UF's all time leading scorer. At 6'8", he was great around the basket, had a sweet mid-range jump shot and was a great rebounder. Here are some of his stats: 2090 points in his career (#1), 19.0 ppg over 4 years (#4); 772 field goals made (#1), 109 games started (#8); 954 rebounds (#4); 3898 minutes played (#6); 40 double-doubles (#2); .585 field goal percentage (#6); 546 free throws made (#1); 1342 points in SEC games (#1). 4 time All-SEC and the only Gator to lead his team in scoring all 4 years. Can't leave this guy off any all time Gator team, IMO.

How anyone could make a list without Beal is beyond comprehension. I guess he's guilty of leaving after 1 year (elite 8), but JWill didn't even play that long or win anything. Beal plays defense and rebounds as good as as any guard I've seen. If he stays, we win another title, or two.

I'm 66 so have seen a ton of Gator basketball and many posters don't remember the players we had before Billy Donovan. Anyway, we all have our perspectives and opinions. So my starting 5 would be Neal Walk, Ronnie Williams and Al Horford as the big men, Andrew Moten & Kenny Boynton as the guards, with the 6th man being Mike Miller, as he could play guard or forward. If adding another 5 from the bench I would have Joakim Noah, Vernon Maxwell, David Lee, Chandler Parsons and Eddie Shannon. Players just missing out - Andrew DeClercq, Scottie Wilbekin, Corey Brewer, Chris Chiozza, Stacey Poole, Tony Miller, Anthony Roberson, Matt Bonner, Udonis Haslem. I know some disagree, but I'm not considering 1 or 2 year players. That's just me. What they did or are are doing in the NBA has no bearing on my choices for an All-time Gator team.

So I'd run with this

Wilbekin
Humphrey
Brewer
Horford
Noah

Miller

I went with Wilbekin because he was a way better defender than Green.

You could literally just run with the 04s and Humphrey and beat any top team from any era in college basketball. Greatest "Team" ever assembled imo

In his junior season, Walk led the NCAA with 19.8 rebounds a game and average 26.5 points per game. This was back before the Gators qualified for their first NIT. A star like Walk would have to be in love with the idea of being a Gator to go to Gainesville back then.

When Walk graduated from Florida, he was the Gators' all-time leading scorer, and still maintains the team records for career rebounds (1,181), average points per game (20.8), and rebounds in a single game (31), among others. His No. 41 jersey has been retired by the Florida basketball program.

Can't find a rarer Gator NCAA standout than that.

That’s the best team you could possibly put together and they have the hardware to prove it. You don’t mess with that kind of chemistry!

Neal Walk was a stud and I saw him play several times. He AVERAGED 15.3 rebounds per game for his career and was UF's first All American in basketball. He is the ONLY player to have their number retired. MUST be on UF's All-Time 1st team.

One thing I'll mention about Jason Williams. He only played 20 games in a Gator uniform. He was suspended for the rest of the season in February 1998 after testing positive for pot, having been suspended twice previously for the same thing. He then declared for the NBA draft. In those 20 games, he was exciting to watch, averaging 17 points and 6.7 assist per game. But a guy who played so few games and then got suspended without even completing 1 full season at UF doesn't deserve to be on an all-time Gator team, IMO..

At the risk of being redundant, following is an article on William Moody from the Tallahassee Democrat by Jim Henry from June 21, 2016 just after he passed away:

When William Moody played basketball, it was a game to watch.

Moody, at 6-foot-3, did it all. He shot long, intermediate and short jumpers. He dunked, 360-degrees style. He played defense. He rebounded. He shared the ball.
We discussed Moody once before. My brother and I were in Alligator Alley and saw his ability. I remember him going up in the lane for a layup. He was David Thompson in his ability. He would have been a great pro player. It's sad he never got to give it a try.
I gotta go with Neal Walk. His stats were amazing. He was drafted second behind Jabbar (Alcindor)
Noah for his all round skills and LEADERSHIP/passion
Mike Miller was a money player.
Vernon and Bradley Beal. Prob best guards we ever had in orange and blue but Jayson Williams did beat UK when they won a national title
He had one three pt shooter on the team to pass to. One of them brothers from the panhandle I think.
Someone mentioned Ronnie Williams. Near the basket you could not stop him. His ass was so wide he took up half the lane.
I think Vernon Delancey played with him. Vernon was a highlight reel. I saw him get 40 against bama on mostly alley oop passes
Scotty in there somewhere. Brewer too. What about humpty .........no better three pt shooter and he learned how to play good def.
With our best pros it is Horford and Beal and Miller. Gary Keller was a great player. Andy Owens had an amazing season.

I am trying to decide whether to weigh in with my thoughts or wait a couple of days when Kevin Brockway will duplicate this topic on that other site. They get the bet ideas from us.

Hey, Kevin and Pat. When are you planning to publish your all time Gator team????

Noah wasn't a scorer. I'd put Horford above him at PF and probably move Noah to center in front of Walk.

I realize Walk had a great UF career, but that was a long time ago.

Seeing Mad Max at the 2 feels all slimy, but in reality no one was better.
"... a long time ago...? What meaning do you assign to "All Time"?

I like the idea of Walk and Noah on the court at the same time. I don’t think virtually any team would be able to score in the paint on them. The interior defense would be sick.

Noah is one of the best passing big men ever. Imagine he, J-Will, and Miller bearing down on you.
Boerwinkle (sp?) always scored. Wasn't that Neal he was scoring against?

I don't know of anyone who has a knowledge of Florida hoops history like you, Coach. You're amazing.

I interviewed Keller in the late '80s. He was working as a realtor. We met at a restaurant on Gulf to Bay in Clearwater with a magnificent 100-plus years old oak tree to the side. The Trib photog snapped his pic in front of that eight-foot-wide trunk. Really nice guy.

Vernon Delancy was everything you said of him. I remember Georgia and Dominique Wilkins coming to the O'Dome in its inaugural year and the anticipation of those two high-wire acts going up against each other. Delancy was only a frosh but he had a heckuva season.

What I could and should have said is I have limited knowledge of his play. I think I may have seen him once or twice. He was obviously very good or he wouldn't have earned the accolades. Sorry, but I'm partial to Noah.

Fair enough. Noah may be the better choice. Certainly more athletic than Walk.
