My God, I had no idea ‘78 was such a Tiger :nutswinger:. Take it out of your mouth and breath some, son.

Tiger also not in proper attire with a collarless shirt on. :nono:

Gary Player, among others, wore the same style back in the 60s. So apparently improper attire has been around for a while.

Never mind Nevada. He's still upset over Ox not allowing him to post an Oscars evening gown critique thread.

I think where he really missed his chance was not getting down in 2 after leaving his second shot just off the green on the par 5 14th. Then he had a decent birdie chance on the par 3 15th but missed on the high side. After that he was lucky to claw his way to within one stroke. Pretty obvious he has a lot of confidence in that 2 iron though. He probably thought that any increase he might have on the last hole of getting it close from 150 compared to 180 was minimal compared to the increased chance of spraying a drive with the big dog off the tee.

I don't make the rules, the Clubs do. You know it, I know it and @'78 knows it.

You're only about 15 years late in your outrage. Woods was wearing collarless shirts back then.

More to the point, who cares?

I don't even carry an iron longer than 5.
I only carry the 4 cause it's part of my iron set. I only carry a driver and 3W. Don't use or have a hybrid of any sort.

He said afterward he had trouble with his irons all day, couldn't get the whole club in the shot. Makes his decision all the more curious.

Please explain this. Twenty years ago I was a +2. At school I played with one or two future PGA pros. I was just as long as they were. They were however in another league in accuracy and short game.

All that ended when my back went nuts. I never worried at all when hitting a 4 iron. For a 2 or 3, I kept telling myself, swing it like a 4, swing it like a 4. What do you do when you're in between. Are you guys supermen?

In between? For 99% of amateurs, getting an approach shot over 175 yards anywhere near the green is an accomplishment. I'd rather have an extra wedge in the bag so I can take full swings from closer in. Best I ever got my handicap was a +4. I could hit my 5 iron 200 yards, my 3 hybrid 225, my 3 wood 250. 25 yard gaps at those ranges are well within the consistency ability of even accomplished amateurs IMO.

Equipment has sure changed. I never hit a hybrid. That was considered whimpy. I hit wood woods (I played only two months with metal they had just come on the market and were no bigger than a persimmon). 5 iron maybe 175. If you wanted to get to a par 5 in two, you need a 2 or a 3. I hated three woods. If I had to get on a 210 yard par 3, I had to hit a 3 iron.

LOL, yeah that's what I was hitting 13 years ago. I don't think there are many pros who don't carry at least one hybrid.

If anyone wants to know where tiger’s balls are , they are firmly in my mouth. If y’all can’t feel the juice that dude has and brings to a tourney , then you’re a zombie.

He played not to lose today. That's not the Tiger Woods we all know. Pulling out an iron on the par-four 18th. The putter failing him short much of the day. You're probably referring to the short birdie putt on #4. He blew that one.

But, geez, what he did over four days after being away so long, falling to the depths he did. Remarkable. I've gotta think he's the guy to beat this week at Bay Hill.

Forget Bay Hill, the Masters is going to be a lot more interesting this year. Tiger charging at Augusta again would be pretty cool. The other golfers bore the crap out of everyone, the tour needs Tiger back.
