You can gold plate a pile of shyt, but under the gold it's still a pile of shyt.

And all other football programs are piling on.

But truly, the realness of it all is that it shows impressionable recruits exactly how "invested" the school is in commitment to "faith" in having the best possible CFB team.?? Where's the faith & commitment ??

UGA doesn't have a indoor practice facility much less an all in one. Cheating bastards.

UGA opened their IPF more than a year ago (cost $30 million, only 1 year after we dropped a whopping $17 million...i.e., theirs is bigger and has more bells and whistles):

The $30.2 million project was completely funded by private gifts and includes a 100-yard football practice field, 65-meter track runway and jumping pits, and a netting system that will provide indoor practice areas for other teams during inclement weather

I’m probably in the minority but I’d rather wait a year and build it right than build it in a hurry just so we can say we did it.

Yeah about that...we are already many years behind and we need to get with the program.

I don’t disagree that we are behind. We are woefully behind. But we were fixing to shoehorn that facility in a small place and it was going to be antiquated before the lights got turned on. I have a feeling that we are going to see a revamped blueprint now that we have more room.

I agree, and I think everyone agrees, that doing it right should be the priority. BUT, why did they not do it right the first time they drew up the plans? Then they reverse course, "Oh, wait. We're gonna make further changes..." I'm calling BS. I think it was their cheapness that caused this. They probably said, "the natives are getting restless...so let's put something out to keep them happy" (something along those lines, not exactly). Then they went and researched financing and put out the 'update' (to move the baseball stadium). That's either what they did (tried to get over on the disgruntled fan base) or they are completely incompetent (I'm not so sure what the answer is after watching 8 years of poor UAA decisions regarding the football program). The AD literally said, "We're not getting into an arms race..." Meanwhile we have two losing seasons and haven't had a top 10 recruiting class in years (no, Butters last class was not top 10 - although pumpers like to say it was/is because one of the 12 services that rate classes said it was).

Because the one that drew up the original construction was foley. He’s not making all these changes now. This is Stricklans show.

That's speculation, but even if Stricklin did put the brakes on it we still need to move on w/ the project (i.e. announce a date for ground breaking and completion). It's not rocket science. In the meantime, Mullen will be forced to keep showing pictures to recruits....

Fooley was squeeling like a stuck pig just over spending what we did.

He wanted half that... at most... and wanted it 5-10 years down the road.

Which part is speculation?

That Stricklin made the changes. Sure, it's now his 'show', but this could have been the plan from the get-go. The original, half-assed proposal was very likely a stop-gap. And until it's done, it's an issue. This has dragged on for YEARS. The Foley comments were made 5 or so years ago (about not getting into a 'arms race').

Let’s just say I know some people in the construction side of things and Stricklin is very involved in this process. And is actually allowing the coaches of the various sports lots of input as far as what they feel they “need” to have

That's no secret. Mullen just visited Clemson for ideas. The discussion is why is this dragging on? "Hey Dan, do you want waterfalls in the new facility? Okay. We'll get that for you....in three years."

It's a joke.

Yeah, Stricklin's doing a great job....dragging his feet just like Foley.

If we would have gone with the original plans people
Would be complaining about how small it was and how he amenities weren’t as nice as other schools.

We will have to just disagree. I would rather wait a year and get baseball moved and build what’s needed instead of building what’s convenient

I'm not disagreeing w/ the first part...but the second part "I would rather wait a year..." We've BEEN waiting a year....and we don't know if it's going to be a year because they haven't announced anything. Even if they announce it tomorrow....completion isn't until likely the 2020 season.
