I see that front leg off and on the ground during the load phase alot in the majors and College. My son's coach hates it and say's you'll never hit off speed with that leg kick. Thoughts?

Lol he’s wrong. You just have to be able to keep your hands back and weight centered.

ARod, Matt Holiday, Mike Trout, Joey Bautista, Cabrera, Posey, Harper...list goes on. Many of the best hitters utilize the higher leg kick to generate power. Hint for your son’s coach: if you see the best of the best doing it, there’s a reason for it.

This shows some good clips (especially second one of Trout):

Tim Tebow can hit the ball a long way. His power is one of the biggest reasons why New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson thinks the former NFL quarterback will play in the majors one day.

On Thursday morning, Tebow once again showed off that power during batting practice.
Anthony DiComo, a Mets beat writer for MLB.com, posted a tweet to let people know Tebow hit a shed beyond the right-center field wall on a huge home run, saying “His power is legitimate.”

So was Pedro Cerrano's.

I hope he makes it to the league and his team gets to the world series and he wins it with a walk off grand slam on a 3-2 count with two outs in the bottom of the 9th inning in Game 7.

@SInow: Tim Tebow sprained his ankle by stepping on a sprinkler head http://on.si.com/2BPYKdh

The groundskeeper should be fired. Mickey Mantle suffered a major injury in the 1951 World Series tripping over a sprinkler. In those days they weren't buried. Now every groundskeeper from Little League on up should know how to maintain sprinkler in order to avoid injuries.

You left out the part about wishing Sas was behind home plate to see it.

Yeah thats my position as well. Thats a great video BTW. Shared with my son and I am going to change his load technique and hitting coach. And you're right about if you see the best doing it, there's a reason. Funny thing is he talks about Trout all the time as being one of the great hitters and yet he'd say that offspeed would kill him. Yet we just saw that he handles off speed just as well as the inside heat. One thing about Trout is the dude has put a ton of time into hitting and he really has no weakness. Cant say the same or Harper.

He got sent down, not a shocker. Question is will it be St. Lucie in high A where he starts, or at AA Binghamton....the Rumble Ponies.

Tebow will start the season with the Mets AA affiliate Binghamton according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.
