Pay for the top ADs is on the rise, and as SEC schools struggle to keep up with one another, that trend should continue.

In a database compiled at SportsInfo.pro, it was revealed that Notre Dame’s Jack Swarbrick is the highest-paid AD, making a cool $3,050,920 in total compensation (salary plus other university compensation) per year. Alabama’s Greg Byrne leads the SEC in the No. 8 spot, making $1,225,000 a year, and you can see the salaries of the other SEC ADs here:

  • Greg Byrne, Alabama — $1,225,000
  • Scott Stricklin, Florida — $1,080,000
  • Hunter Yurachek, Arkansas — $1,050,000
  • Phillip Fulmer, Tennessee — $1,040,000
  • David Williams, Vanderbilt — $985,482
  • Mitch Barnhart, Kentucky — $940,000
  • Scott Woodward, Texas A&M — $935,000
  • Ray Tanner, South Carolina — $900,000
  • Jim Sterk, Mizzou — $850,000
  • John Cohen, Mississippi State — $800,000
  • Joe Alleva, LSU — $725,000
  • Ross Bjork, Ole Miss — $700,000
  • Greg McGarity, Georgia — $675,000
  • Allen Greene IV, Auburn — $625,000

Georgia gives AD McGarity one-year extension

ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity has been given a one-year contract extension.

The announcement came in a rare online video spring meeting of the University of Georgia athletic association's board of directors on Thursday.

The 65-year-old McGarity was named Georgia's AD in 2010. His extension came in a unanimous vote.

UGA President Jere W. Morehead said he was grateful McGarity agreed to serve another year "particularly now, with all that we're going through -- in this country and in intercollegiate athletics -- with all the challenges that we've faced, Greg's experience and having that continuity is really good for UGA at this time. So I appreciate his willingness to serve."

The board also approved a budget of $149.4 million for 2021. McGarity said the budget includes contingency plans that could be affected by such factors as the number of fans allowed to attend football games during the coronavirus pandemic.

Fckking UGA somehow lands the only person in the UF ADs office who knows how to build a football program and not waste most of the money on irrelevent money losing sports

Surprised Fooley is still not on the list. He probably got a raise and an extension also.

It’s the respective UAAs. The ADs do their bidding.

Internet bullshyt.

The UAA isn't full of people who want to spend 140 million a year in order to be the next Vandy or Kintucky.

And the same UAA that demanded fvkktard Fooley fire his boy toys Zookie and Chimp. If Cousin Eddie doesn't pull something out of his ass this October, he will start feeling a nuclear hot seat.
