It is long overdue that Mick is getting into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame. You just can't talk Florida Gators without mentioning Mick. I will repeat what I have said for years....an exception needs to happen and Mick should go up on the ring of honor at BHG. No one loses their mind like Mick when calling games!

That being said, what is your favorite Mick Hubert call or memory? I think Mick calling the baseball championship win last year said it all. He broke down and was rather emotional about it. Tells you right there how much the Gators mean to him.

(Honorable mention to “Doering’s got a touchdown!”)

This one is my all time favorite because the memory associated with it. I was traveling down the interstate with my dad on our way back from a family reunion and we were listening to the game. The station was starting to fade out and get fuzzy but cleared up just in time for this call. We had to pull over on the side of the road to avoid wrecking the truck. People driving by must have thought we were being attacked by a swarm of bees.

"Doering's got a Touchdown" takes the cake no doubt. We had thrown 7...SEVEN INTs that night and yet we were still in the game. We ran the same play before the TD but just a shorter route. Doering beats the linebacker but Danny throws it just out of the reach of Doering thankfully. The next play is just a deeper route and Doering beats the same linebacker, #2 in blue, and the rest is history. Perfect play, perfect throw, and perfect catch. Great memories.

Mick is the consummate professional. I've talked to him many times and he's always been an absolute joy to talk with. His love for the Gators and the passion of his game calls is just awesome.

I fully support him joining the Swamp ROH.

All of these are great.

As bad as the past decade has been, 2015's ut ending was a great moment from him. Last year as well, though it didn't have the same spontaneity. Sadly, I don't think I've ever listened to any thrilling moments from him, live. It's always after the fact.

On a side note, there are few things better than the halftime beer pee in the Swamp, while getting the first half stats from Mick over the sound system. It just goes together perfectly.
