Game 7 East Finals at the Amalie. Every set of eyes in the gym is on the overhead TVs.

Go Bolts!

Caps up 1-0 early in the second.

I've got it muted on my laptop. Sick and tired of every ****ing announcer giving Ovechkin fellatio every minute.

Ovechkin...a big stats pussy that will never win the big one, just like Marino in the NFL.

My coworker and I watched it in a bar in Nashville.
He face timed his wife back in Arlington and she was watching it with Ovechkin’s wife.
Lovely ladies to say the least and very happy

I was there and it was worse in person. Caps dominated the Bolts. Jon Cooper is Tony Dungy. He'll never win a cup.

Give the Caps all the credit. They deserve it.

I live in DC and these people are eaten up w/ the Caps. Glad to finally see them make it. I used to work in Ballston, which is where their practice facility is. We'd walk over and watch them practice often. I had never been to a hockey game until I moved here, so I've pulled for them....always expecting a 1st or 2nd round loss though.

I am so happy for the Great 8 Alexander Ovechkin on winning his first Stanley Cup and his conn smythe trophy as playoff MVP. Alex has proven at the age of 32 that he is the greatest left-wing in the history of hockey. Ovechkin has been a three-time NHL Most Valuable Player which makes him a very rare Award winner in the NHL. How many have won Rookie of the Year MVP and playoff MVP in their careers? Very few.

On a side-note Ovechkin is the only player in NHL history who was first team NHL his first five seasons in the league.

I'm happy for the Caps fans too.

I am hoping the Washington Capitals visit the White House being that they're from Washington DC and the White House is in Washington DC

and the Caps lost their first two games of the playoffs at home and then won four straight against Columbus. When they lost the first two games at home to Columbus I thought this is the usual Washington Capital team then when they won four straight games against Columbus to win that series I thought this could be a different team and it was. Long overdue.

Bobby Hull on line 1. Ovi is great and his book is not yet finished.

Ovechkin has a great shot at hitting 800 goals and passing Gordie Howe. He’d have to play into his 40s to pass Gretzky, though. The fact that he’s missed 1.5 seasons due to lockout sucks, because he’d have had a real shot at passing Gretzky otherwise.

Losing That season and a half will probably cost him 70 to 80 goals offor his career total. I think he could push a hundred career goals in the NHL but it's some point he may want to return to Russia and play in their Elite League called the KHL League. he is also newly married and they're expecting a baby so he may want to return to Russia instead of playing six or seven more years here. Only time will tell. One thing is for sure Alexander Ovechkin has been an exciting show on ice for 13 seasons in the NHL and now he's a champion. This is a very cool outcome and a very cool story.

He would certainly be the other first choice. Like you said Alex ovechkin's careers far from done so for me he will end up as left-wing number one of all time if he isn't that already.

I would loved to have seen Ovechkin play in the area of Bobby Hull or Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux when the goalies were smaller the defenseman were smaller the wingers were smaller and there was more room on the ice. Alex would probably have another hundred to 150 goals in his career. But that's like playing fantasy sports so it's irrelevant. The Washington Capitals are really enjoying this championship it's kind of fun to say too I have to the organization has been tortured with choke jobs going back to the 80s and watch the Pittsburgh Penguins playing five championships and each time beating the Capitals along the way. Very painful. But those days are over and the Washington Capitals are winners now.
