Lets play with this poll question a bit.

I went with Zooker. Now I know the records look similiar between these three disasters, but in Zooker's day both the Inbreds and Azzsniffers were top 10 teams. Corndog also had top 10 talent and Saban. Clowntown and Scum were also a top teams, and ZookerZooker Scum once or twice, I forget. Simply put his record was much tougher to achieve and his record against ranked teams was better than Fooley'sFooley' Part 2 and 3.

Moreover, due purposefully avoiding scoring points neither Muskstank or Butters had any of hope of beating most decent teams. They only had a chance against other completely anemic offenses.

Zook was a terrible game day coach you say, yes he was. He is still the original Fooley's Folley, but he really had the chance of beating anyone, including Saban's first NC team. Mushchump and Sharkie couldnt beat Saban if they played him every week for 4 years.

It is clear to me.

This is like deciding to run a marathon and being told to choose between 20-pound ankle weights, your hands tied behind your back or running across the Mojave Desert.

Zooker had much better QBs in Rex Grossman and Chris Leak. Zooker's teams also beat a bunch of top 10 teams including #1 LSU on the road in pretty easy fashion, 19-7. Easy choice here with Zooker.

I usually answer these polls within a few minutes of seeing a new one, but I simply refuse to voluntarily select any of these buffoons to coach another game for the Gators (even if in a totally fictional sense, I just can't do it).

Single game? Zook. His tenure was much more of a roller coaster because he would wind the team up to win games we expected to lose, but then lose games we should have won. His biggest win was after he was fired, winning at F$U the night they dedicated it to Bowden. (SOS never won at F$U.) Maddening losses included Ole Miss and LSU on a night we had gotten 5 turnovers. I don't blame him for the Swindle in the Swamp. That was all Ron Cherry's ACC crew's fault.

Muschamp also had some big wins, LSU & at F$U in 2012, but you're right, he only ever wanted to fight in a phone booth.

Mac only ever won that one big game vs. Ole Miss. Otherwise, elite teams ate his teams alive.

I'll add that of the 3, I like Zook as a person. He was in over his head but seems a good guy. Muschamp I got mixed signals, good at points then that horrible temper. Mac...no thanks. The aw shucks shtick wore off and he seems false.

One game scenario, underdogs, with backs against the wall. Zook should be the coach no question. He seemed to excell in this scenario, except Scum in 2003. Even at Illinois in 2007, they were the only team to defeat Osu in the regular season, on the road too. Zook was just never able to motivate his teams week in and week out. That’s why we lost to OleMiss in ‘02,’03, Miss st in ‘04, and his bowl games. He also had terrible calls go against him in Fsu ‘03 and Ut ‘04, or he may have lasted longer as coach. Which led to us getting Urban, so I’m not complaining, cause Zook would have always came up short for Championships, which is why he was wisely let go.

I hate you.

Agreed! First it was "Worst Loss Ever", then "Worst Gator Ever", now this topic that is truly the worst. WHY? Why are we doing this to ourselves?

Is this Aaron Hernandez repentance?

What are we atoning for? What is next, "Who is your favorite person to eat breakfast with among Peter Warrick, Darnell Docket, Lindsey Scott, and Phil Fulmer,?" or "Who is your favorite poster among Alvin York, CaneThing, 2222, and the legal burro?"

Screw it, I can't handle much more of these topics. Someone please tell me how often I need to keep this up before we can get some more recruits and move onto something positive. In the meantime, you'll find me in my flagellation chambers.

There are no big ganes where you actually have a chance to win with McElwain, Muschamp or Zook at the helm of your program. That makes the question and poll moot.

Who said they'd be coaching the Gators? You guys overthink this stuff. Carefully read the questions.

Play along answer: Zook. At least with Zook, player talent could overcome coaching. With Mac and Mus you knew you weren't going to win, and you thought maybe the other team would keep you in it for awhile but overall it was an abysmal feeling of hopelessness. With Zook, there was the chance of a surprise.

=============

How I want to answer:
First inclination would be Jim Beam, but I know that always makes me vomit, and I suspect I'd be vomiting regardless. Jaeger is good for over-riding vomit breath for a bit...but then it kind of settles in and mixes with it. A lot of times I'd go with a rum mix, maybe with coke or some light flavored drink to make one feel more relaxed and at ease. But that would only be deceiving myself and making the build up of angst, misery, and pain be more present while you waited for the buzz to kick and an numb you. Honestly, while I rank Tequila up there with Jim Beam in that the smell can do me in without a sip....I'd have to go with a half dozen shots to start the game, and an extra one everytime we went 3-out. My gameplan would be to pass out before the first quarter is done and claim blissful ignorance of whatever catastrophe occurred on the field.

Sadly i would take the Zooker. IF he could have just not **** the bed so many times in the 4th quarter his record actually wouldn't have been nearly as bad. Combination of being such an awful game day coach and his ass puckered up and got scared every time he was in a close game. I always said if he coached the end of games like he did his last at fsu he might have made it at UF a couple more years...he finally went against his norm and went for some critical 4th downs to make a play instead of punting and praying.

Zook knew well enough to allow Fedora to run the offense and leave him the alone. If he could have just done that to the DC, just being a CEO he might have lasted a little longer. He also played well against the better teams on the schedule.

And keep his hands off of special teams...they were horrific when he was head coach. And his clock management was something out of this world that never seemed to get better even through all the years at Illinois

Zook, and it's not close. The big games that were loaded with pressure were where he typically showed up and coached his best. Even from a season standpoint, it was usually only after we'd dropped a few conference games and had zero margin for error that he'd suddenly reel off 4-5 wins in a row. Still not a good coach because of the deficiencies already discussed, but light years ahead of the other two clowns.
