As much as many of us wanted Scott Frost, you can bet the usual suspects would have been apoplectic if he was allowed to bring his entire staff of nobodies here
This is bull shcit! I woulda been on cloud 9.

If this is true it pisses me off. It kinda wouldn't suprise me though, Our administration is dumb enough to hire dan Mullen .

Any coach hired pretty much has the say so on who they hire and whether or not they keep any existing staff. I highly doubt this was ever an issue.

Wasn't this a rumor on the Chip deal? Vetting assistants? So now this is the 2nd time assistants have come up in the hiring process...hmmmmm

Frost may or may not be good, not great for Nebraska, but we just got rid of a guy that wouldn't fire bad coaches and don't want that road again. His offensive staff may had been fine, but his defense was a dumpster fire. I don't see how those coaches do well in the Big 10, much less the SEC. That being said Mullen bringing his entire staff didn't excite me to much either, but hopefully he will can people when needed.

Not that I ever heard. In fact, what I heard first was Frost 100%. Then I heard, just kidding, working on Chip's deal for days.

Strickland mentioned something about agents not bargaining in good faith. I have no reason not to believe it, still, though I guess the staff could have been ordered to send ouy false info.

I'm not going to summarily discount this comment, not at all. For one, Sean Beckton has more to lose than gain by making it. Secondly, that's twice now we've heard from outside the program about Stricklin putting the kibosh to a candidate who wanted to exert autonomy in this area.

Maybe Mullen got a pass because Stricklin trusted him and personally knew the assistants. Maybe by that point Stricklin realized he was alienating too many good candidates by being a control freak.

I have my reservations about him.

If Frost turned down an opportunity for the University of freaking Florida over a couple of assistants, most of which he discovered as screaming fathers on the sidelines of Pee-Wee leagues, then he's a fool. You could find assistants of a similar caliber in the parking lot before games. His staff is a national joke.

I don't believe a single word of the story. I think Frost is a wussy who succumbed to enormous pressure and took a job he didn't want. Now he's got the "savior" label tattooed on him in an unwinnable situation. It's a terrible position to be in and he'll be having esophageal spasms before too long.

He's going to wish he told Tom Osbourne to shove it up his ass.

What is "doing well"? The Nebraska fans think they can return to National Championships. That is laughable. They can't assemble those rosters anymore.

Those fans are going to be extremely disappointed by the Frost era, largely because they still think they are a powerhouse program.

Would you have figured Frost for being a guy who demanded to coach the bowl game? He marches to a different beat in a lot of areas. Loyalty is a big deal to him. He definitely wasn't wowed by our overtures. I can picture him doing exactly as described here.

The fact that he insisted on staying to coach a bowl game is unprecedented and it shows you just how much he didn't want that Nebraska job. Do you really think he would have done that if NU was his dream job and he was raring to rip?

His Nebraska coaching career started badly and it's going to end even worse.

I'm interested in divits' take here. He's from Orlando and has made a point of getting to know Frost and his isms. He's made comments similar to mine.

Unprecedented? Didn't Meyer do the same thing...for the exact same reason (to go undefeated)?
