I said he failed as a coach long term and is a terrible recruiter and developer of talent but he was the missing players like this one below who could have made a difference in his close games last season.

And just a year later he helped lose the game to the vols by continually fielding punts next to the goal line with one of them being a fumble. :headslap:

My understanding of Trump Derangement Syndrome is that it occurs when observers become so angry with Trump''s vulgarity, arrogance, and egotism that fail to understand the effectiveness of his policies, appeal to voters, etc. Sometimes they become more vulgar than Trump. You guys are dangerously close to creating Byrd Derangement Syndrome, BDS. All he is be saying is that good players make a difference even with bad coaches. If you don't believe that, ask yourself how the odds would change if Vegas learned a couple of key players were out even on a bad team.

No change as it is the same players.
Since you are not objective about talent I show you what NFL experts think (money talks). Harris 6th round and signed, Scarlett is ranked the #6 RB out of 155 backs for the 2019 draft. Callaway 4 th round and would have been higher without moral issues. Callaway himself made a difference in the UT upset as a freshman.

Any objective person would say 3 NFL caliber players added could make a difference in a close game.

Since you replied to my CC 9 comment... I go back to which of the remaining 8 are on an NFL roster.

You make assumptions your actually knowledge doesn't back up. Callaway was a 4th round pick, no one questioned his talent (1st or 2nd round talent), his discipline and route running was questioned. Going into the season (NFL.com & ESPN) he was rated as the 6th best underclassman prospect at WR. So 4th round is about right.

Harris wasn't part of the 9 CC people, therefore not part of this conversation and you trying to change the argument again.

Scarlett again, this is potential not production... he isn't on an NFL roster.

How am I not being object oh emotional one.

Here are some other early 2019 draft rankings on Scarlet:
draftscout: 6th
Walterfootball: 11th
CBS Sports: not listed (only does the top 10)
Draft Blaster: not listed (only does top 10)
Draft Wire: not listed (only does top 10)
Draft Tek: not listed (only top 10)
NFL.Com: Not listed (16 running backs listed in top 150 players) - No way in hell they know what NFL experts think, right?
SI: not listed (top 10)

So you sticking to your "I show you what NFL experts think" line of BS. Take your emotion out of it, and be objective, you are reading too many fluff pieces.

No one disagrees that good players can compensate for bad coaching, but these guys weren't going to make that big of a difference. Callaway only had 3 TD receptions in 2016 and the depth chart at RB was deep enough to where Scarlett's absence wasn't even noticeable. There were so many problems with this team besides the the credit card situation and missing those players, that last year was going to be bad with or without them.

So you argree that McElwain would have been a 9 win coach in 2017 without the CC 9? And he should have remained our coach without question?

TDS is also fueled by the false narrative that he’s not-so-secretly KKK/Nazi. Every time he does ANYTHING it gets interpreted through that prism.

He is a class A narcissist, obnoxious, rude, often inarticulate and imprecise - and he seems to relish throwing logs on the TDS fire.

If Vegas odds are retrievable, perhaps this argument can be resolved. Somebody retrieve the odds on Gators winning before and after the cc scandal broke.

Knew you didn't have one.

Coming from a guy who defended McElwain and his system well past expiration... I didn't expect any less from you. Do you believe with those players on the roster that he would have won 9 games and competed for an SEC championship. Which is the nature of the 2017 article
jhbyrd referenced, in which you defended him for.

The title of that clip says, "Improbable Win" and thats exactly what it was. Improbable. Mac sucked in every aspect of coaching. He was a terrible recruiter, game day coach, organizer and delegator, ambassador for the program and most of all, motivator. He totally lacked foresight and intuition when it came to having a feel for his audience and getting them to perform at a high level. Your continued efforts to ignore the obvious makes all the criticism coming your way well deserved.

Heck the guy couldn't complete a sentence and cried every time they put a mic in front of him. How does he lead anything?

Let's just say I'm not surprised to see Ancient Reptile rush to byrd's defense. It's possible the two of them are related (or perhaps lovers), as the IP's are coming from the same household.

He's actually not a professor. He's just the guy who cleans out the litter boxes. It's a transitional job until he goes to work behind the counter at PetSmart.
