Big fan of Spurs and Harry Kane, so I'll be pulling for England but I really don't see them getting past the round of 16. Very young (with a few exceptions).

All the "soccer flop" **** talk is old news. The dramatic flailing was an unfortunate trend that peaked 2 World Cup cycles ago.

Does it still happen? YES... Mostly by teams who play a specific style and/or speak Spanish.

Do US soccer haters still feel the need to post memes and comparisons to traditional 'Merican sports? YES... Mostly by dudes who are sports experts because they played JV Football in Jr. High or they currently DOMINATE thier local Rec. Softball League.

I'd pick Die Mannschaft as the early favorite with Brazil a close second. Wouldn't be surprised if Argentina, Spain or Belgium took home the trophy.

Over 265 Million people play soccer worldwide and the sport generates BILLIONS of $$$ every year worldwide. Just the facts Donkers. Just because someone or MILLIONS of someones around the world likes a sport doesn't take away from the popularity of it and the money it generates.

Yeah, I was going to "defend" my meme posting but got totally distracted by the avatar.
Dayum...
Forgot what I was going to post.

So then ...since flopping has been eliminated (at least since two weeks ago when I watched two teams flopping around like fish out of water) ... I stand corrected. They were probably Mexicans.

Carry on

I enjoy watching the World Cup, and with the U.S.A. out, I do not have a favorite. But at some point an underdog will emerge and that will be the team I cheer for.
