So here at UF, Mullen will lose big to MSU - a Mullen-built program. But here at the helm of UF, Mullen will fail.??
The real difference is in the receptivity of the fanbase. Everyone needs 3-4 games' observations to make valid judgements .... and too, gotta notice correctional improvement - that's coaching, that's CEO execution of smarts.

Wanna bet their offense isn't 100th again and their QB, whomever it is, isn't good for 1400 yards?
You can argue all day long, which you likely will because you're that vested in Mullen being a failure here, but the simple truth is the only reason Mississippi State is expected to do well is because of the roster he left behind for Moorhead. That isn't just my belief. It's a widely held belief. Google it if you dont believe me.

Will MSU finish that high? That's up to Moorhead to make the most of it.

I observe Mullen and what he has done and determine he has been at hest mediocre, with an average to terrible offense, and he will be a failure here. I did the same with Butterteeth.

I observe Moorhead and realize he will have a better offense and is a much better recruiter.

You are invested in hoping we didnt just make the third straight terrible hire.

You've pegged me wrong and probably a lot of other posters, too. I'm hoping for the best, expecting the least. I'm as aware as you the risks involved and the challenges we face. I'm also aware we were left with a very difficult situation after we logically committed to Kelly and then whiffed on Frost. Remember, my third choice was Norvell.

I can think of a lot of guys I'd rather have had than Mullen. I can think of a lot of guys I'd rather not have had over Mullen.

It's a wait and see game for me.

He may be able tomadd the right staff and fix recruiting.

If not, 3 Star U will never be good enough.

It's High Risk City alright. Not until practically 2021 are we in a position to say oh shyt once again and look back at a lost dozen years. We're either gonna be Clemson or Nebraska when the dust settles.

So if Mullen gets credit for their wins then by definition Mac gets credit for ours? Okay, gotcha:fistbump:

I can give you a fast car. If you can't drive it, the fast car isn't worth diddly.

Did anyone ever figure out why the Norvell was so untouchable? Hell even UT thought he was untouchable.

That is what I have repeatedly said and been much criticized for. I have been pointedly told not with this roster and some do not like it when I ask where are the problems other than QB with this roster.
That’s because you are asking a dumb question but using the answer as a prediction. “Other than QB” is crucial to the record. If the qb sucks, we’ll be lucky to be 7-5. If the qb is good, might very well net 9-10 wins. That seems unlikely and you know can’t ignore that position when asking why 10 wins shouldn’t be the prediction.

Well:

1. I made my 10 win prediction in a different thread than the one where I asked about other issues with the roster. I sincerely wanted to know where people thought this roster was lacking other than the one glaring issue.

2. I think even with bad QB play this is a 10 win schedule

3. Sincere question are NEVER dumb.

I see a 5-0 start.
I'm with you. I think Miss State will be the closest of these games but they've got a new coaching staff like us but ours used to run there team the whole team I think this will be the thing that brings us home with a road win against Miss State. So I'm onboard with a 5-0 start That's my view and I'm stickin to it like it or not!! Go Gators

Well, yeah if we landed a great 2019 and 2020 class, we might be ok by 2021.

That isnt happening.

It is leftovers again. 3 star U continues.

No because at least 4 of them have QBs that so far don't appear to fall apart like Franks does. No doubt in my mind if talent besides QB was equal those 4 would have an edge over us. We have to hope Franks doesn't fall apart too bad in those games.
That's if Franks starts? I like Trask and think he's got what it takes to score points and run this new offence alot better than Franks! I believe that Mullen should start him and sit Franks with STRICT instructions not to use him unless there aren't enough players to finish the game and even then maybe put him on the kicking team and play the kicker first Start Trask we could open 5-0 start Franks and we'll probably go at best 3-2 but probably more like 2-3 and will all be pissed and done for yet another miserable session!

1. QB and OL are the most obvious reasons that establishing 10 wins as the expectation for next year is dumb.

2. It may very well be... for a team with better talent and an established QB. We are not more talented than 10 teams on our schedule we have a new coach with new offensive and defensive schemes. That’s not a recipe for immediate success. Kirby took over a loaded team and didn’t change the systems much - went 7-6. Once he had the whole team bought in, they were significantly better and did well against a schedule comparable to ours. Not sure why this is so challenging for you.

3. Who told you this? A dumb question is dumb, even if you ask it sincerely. At least in my line of work.

Boy are you dangerous if you are still a Seabee. The sincere question is this pontoon bridge or field runway safe might be dumb to you if everyone else knows that it is, but is very very important. The questioner might later have to decide that on his own in a war zone. Thus the questioner understanding how to tell if a pontoon bridge or field runway is safe is not dumb. The whole idea that someone in the military does not know that a sincere question is not dumb is frightening.

That wouldn’t be a dumb question. That would be an intelligent question.

Using your runway example (Seabees don’t do pontoon bridging - confusing us with ESB), a dumb question would be me asking my guys what minimum time would be required to successfully complete an assigned runway repair if we ignored whatever critical vulnerabilities we couldn’t overcome with current manning, training, or equipment knowing that I would have to brief that time to higher as a baseline. See the difference?

yeah ok.

So why was he 11-23 with no TDs zero yards rushing---even as Mullins was on the sideline saying he needs a willing runner to run our offense-- playing against our walkons?

Some of you sound just as stupid this year claiming the the fourth Stringer must better.
You said the same thing last year, that we d have a great offense once LDR was replaced by (the obviously not ready) Franks.

And you said the same thing the year before, once LDR replaces Treon we are golden.

Just keep wishing and deluding yourselves.

Does it ever get old?
