the article in the link suggests the tweet reversed the timeline. the coaching staff stopped calling because he didn't want to visit UF, not the other way around.
update from Inside the Gators: it seems Pierre called Linebackers assistant coach Christian Robinson and this was the individual who initially accepted the commit since everyone else is AWOL. But ItG is still going to wait for final confirmation from UF.
However, I saw a post from Blake Alderman, 247's UF recruitnik on the Canes board that says Pierre contacted him about the commitment graphic that appears in Jesiah's tweet and Alderman pointed him toward someone who could do it, but Alderman did not do it himself and he had heard that Pierre was not a take for UF as of 24-48 hrs ago.

Sounds so familiar. Keep hearing it from different recruits, from inside and outside the program. Where there is this much smome there has to be a big fire.
We need to give these coaches raises.

We got a decent looking player that wants to commit at a position of need and we won't take him? Don't understand, why not just take his commitment and push him out later if we can land something better.

Mullen shouldn't accept any more 3 star kids at all for awhile. "3star U" becomes more of a real thing with every 3 star we accept verbals from. I don't want to **** on this kid's commitment. He may turn out to be a really good LB that was also a 3 star just like Morrison and Reese. The coaches need to gain some awareness though. The Gators should not be "3star U". No excuses.

I'm not sure if you've been paying attention or not but we're having a hell of a time even getting three star kids to commit. By December we're probably going to be Two Star U.

I think we should take this particular 3 star's commitment for now, and if we can get something better later and don't have room for him, then push him out. Mullen started out surprisingly good in recruiting in December, but has really slid since then. We all want better results, just don't know if Mullen can deliver them.

I agree with the excuses part but they are coming from the UAA brother not Strick. The UAA is going to milk as much $ as possible from the boosters on this and every other project in the future. Their bull$hit is why I have quit sending my 40k a yr. I won't send another dollar until we're competing for championships again on a consistent basis. If everyone else would do the same and let them know why you aren't donating anymore (via email) I guarantee the bull$hit within the UAA would stop.

^^^this! We had a bunch of momentum on elite players in early June but at the end of the month that evaporated! If what I'm hearing is accurate Pittman/Steele/Billingsley are gone! They were considered locks at the middle of last month but now we have a slim chance to land any of them at the moment. I haven't been able to find out WTF happened to make them change up so fast but soon as I do I will update everyone. However we're in good shape for Elijah Higgins and Ethan Rae AT THE MOMENT but with the way things are going I don't expect to land them either. We'll see what happens going forward but I'm not liking what I'm hearing/seeing at this time from this staff on the trail because we're getting our a$$es handed to us REPEATEDLY

Yeah...this is one of the issues I'm hearing about also. Mycah Pittman said "I feel wanted at Oregon" so that says ALOT about how this staff is going about they're business!

How does losing Jujuan cause all of this?
At the moment this staff appears to be even more incompetent than Butters and Co, and the didnt even bother trying.
Or is there more at play behind the scenes which scenes?

I love how Mullen is getting fired before he has ever coached a game.
If the apparent schitting of the bed continues in recruiting, outside of a huge year on the field, Mullen is going to get canned for having crap recruiting classes.

Unless he bangs a co-ed on Kent Fuch's desk on facebook-live he's getting four years. His buyout would bankrupt the UAA (not literally, but they aren't paying him $30 million to walk away).
Other than being behind ALL of our rivals in July of his first 7 months on the job (and booting Seider) he's doing a fantastic job representing UF and even though recruiting is lagging, he's certainly making a 100% effort.
