Apparently, doctors initially thought he’d broken it in three places. But after X-rays, the 1st and 3rd were found to be ok. It was just the 2nd place.

Not many tears for a dawg, but I can sympathize with both injuries. I threw my arm up to protect my face from a lure that had been jerked free and one treble hook nailed my arm and another my cheek.Dad usually just cut hooks off and pulled them free, but, as I recall, he left this one alone and took me to ER with my arm pinned to my face.
