Sounds like Mike Wallace....good find.

I am pretty sure that is Dick Stratton. He did a lot of broadcasting back in the day.
Not sure but I doubt he is still alive today. He used to do a lot of Jacksonville Bulls stuff too. He brought the house down during one bulls game with a Freudian slip of the tongue. I will not elaborate due to the PC culture today.

Yep, he did the old gator show on Sundays with Graves if I remember. But please tell us the story. I vaguely remember something about it.
I remember they used to sell Clarkes CHopped Beef Steak on the show.

If you insist.

During a pregame of a Bulls game Stratton was introducing some of the players and where they played their college ball.
Although the closet was full for gay men back in the day, it was pretty well known that he was in fact gay.
One of the Bulls players attended Bethune Cookman and Stratton introduced him and stated that he attended Bethune Cockman College......you could clearly hear the laughter and throat clearing throughout the stadium.

Not a big deal today but it was a big deal in the eighties.

With that said, he was a true professional and very good at his job. We could use more Dick Stratton's in the business today instead of all the yucksters and amatuer comedians pretending to be announcers today. I can't sit through a sportscenter on BSPN today due to all the lame attempts at being cutesy instead of broadcasting.
