Recruiting Is it fair to wonder if UGA is paying recruits?

UGa is going to be tossing our salads for years to come with these classes of theirs.
Also the term plausible deniability applies to saban. Stuff may be going on but I bet he intentionally knows nothing about it.

Exactly...it's the way it works.

Leg-humpers out-recruited us every year of the SOS years and we still whipped their azz. Recruiting helps, but it doesn't guarantee a result against good coaching. UGA is in the crosshairs.

You have to assume they are being paid. Are there other factors that may be pushing it beyond expected levels? Sure. They are an hours drive from a large black metropolitan area. If FAMU helps FSU, then Atlanta has to be helping UGA to some extent. They have their state already locked down for the most part. The East is a joke, so an SEC Championship Game appearance is likely every year. And quite honestly, it's a nice campus and a nice place to spend some time. So if you are a recruit (especially from Ga) and you are offered an easier path to championships, a nice place to call home, a deep pool of women relatively close to you, and some money. Sounds like an easy choice.

I doubt they did some of the years Zook was doing most of the leg work on that. That 95 and 96 team actually matched FSU in talent.

Seems familiar but Ive forgotten. Help us out.

If I remember correctly shortly after Kirby got hired they passed a law that allowed if a player got in trouble they could conceal it for a certain amount of time. Once again if I remember correctly it said that if a player got busted for the things most get busted for they could delay reporting it until say right before the Furman game so they were not out against the big boys.

I know most the legislators were UGA fans at one point and supposedly were tired of losing so they figured they would tweak what they could to help.

Google Kirby’s law and it will probably take you there.

I think it was Lewis Grizzard who said UGA ought to buy their own gas station so their players could rob it anytime they wanted to.

They had some crazy number of seniors last year. I think the number was 35.

With that he got absolutely embarassed vs Barn the first game and imploded vs Bammer.
Had Auburn not hadso many injuries , they woulda got embarrassed by em twice

There are some people that think that we should be getting all these players just because we are Florida. Even though we have sucked for the last 10 years. Even though our facilities suck. Even though we chintzes out on the IPF. Even though our players have a shared weight room. Even though Gainesville isn't exactly Miami Beach and one step above Clemson and Auburn and barely two steps above StarkVegas.
We've owned Georgia for the last few decades and their facilities are shcit aswell. We don't expect recruits to come to Florida because "we're Florida ". We expect them to come to Florida because its been done in the past and we're paying some dude 6 mil a year to bring them in. And please don't act like athens or Tuscaloosa is some dream destination.

They have spent ALOT in the last two years and I don't mean on 50mil on baseball and 50 mil on basketball.

Saban is the best thing to happen to collage football in the current era. He’s a God. Nothing will ever be found out about what’s going on.

shoot low boys, they are riding Shetland ponies..........It's better to have died a small child than to be a politician who gets caught in a scandal during a slow news month.

Best thing to happen to college football...? Maybe the best coach, but I’d say he’s been detrimental to UF, the SEC and college football as a whole. Although I might have a different opinion if he was wearing O&B.

Saban reminds me of those private HS school football coaches that establish a pipeline of talent (for whatever reason) and win. You get enough NFL talent on the lines and some good RBs and you WILL win a consistently (MOM I know). The HS guys especially stick in my throat cause they deny deserving kids from small towns championships with their "recruiting".

Hard to believe that Smart is just that much better of a recruiter than Mark was.
Pretty sure they are using some type of recruiting tool to land all these 5 star guys,
although there is many ways to pull this off. Anyway, if true, it will just be a matter
of time before someone blows the whistle.
