I don't know if we'll ever compete for any championships under Mullen, but I do know that he's going to actually run a competitive program.

Team looked outstanding. Prepared and disciplined - barely any penalties. Special teams was unreal - kicking and punting as well as the coverage play - night and day from the Nord era. Hell, TWO blocked kicks!

The players were fired up and actually looked like they were having fun out there, and the crowd responded in turn. Fun football.

I'll tell you this: if Franks can play anywhere near that level against real competition, this team could be tough to beat.

Let's beat Kentucky by 50.

Discuss.

Charleston Southern is a hell of a team....

I'm glad we didn't have to win with a blocked punt, didn't block our own players, and had few penalties.

We’ve struggled for nearly a decade against teams like this.

This was the most fun (other than the Grier Ole Miss game) I’ve had watching a game since 2008.

I agree. I couldn't have been more impressed. I know it's a jv team we played but we were pretty much flawless. Franks looked like a ball player tonight. This crow smells pretty good.

Charleston Southern is terrible and we should have won that way. That being said, that WAS fun. When was the last time we had 38 points at halftime? When was the last time we blocked even just one kick? I really like the offensive tempo, the receivers were open and made plays, and the backs ran well. Kentucky and Tennessee will tell us a little more about our team, but I’m hopeful for a more disciplined team this year that plays with some fire and is actually fun to watch.

Go Gators!

Couple young kids that really stood out to me was Pierce and Huggins.

I keep telling myself that this opponent was horrible and I shouldn't get excited. Then I remind myself how poorly we often played against horrible opponents for the last 8 years.

It was great to have special teams be a factor again. But the biggest thing to me was the lack of penalties. I don’t remember a game when we had so few.

I said that during the game. This may have been a bad team, but how many bad teams didi we fail to blow out under muschump and mcelstain? It was nice to do what we supposed to do: dominate.

Even the wins sucked under Butterteef.

I think we have the players to be in some games this year, and finally have a staff that have even half a clue.

The options Franks will have to get the ball to, to go along with a staff that are smart enough to know how to at least give him a chance, is going to make for an interesting year for us.

Grimes and Jefferson are going to be real difference makers, especially when you throw in the other pieces and the depth at RB.

O line still could get quite a bit better, but at least this team was fun to watch again.

Here's hoping we can keep it up.
GO GATORS

It is a terrible, terrible team but weve struggled and embarrassed ourselves even against the most terrible of teams most games this decade.

At keast we look like we actually practiced befkre the game and we no longer consider yoga an alternative to S&C.

OL still concerns me, as does Franks but Mullin will spoonfeed him.

I really didnt know he had accuracy we saw tonight at times.
