I think its impossible to really overstate just how much of a hole that Butters and Foley put this program in. Our talent level is the lowest I can ever remember and our facilities and overall football atmosphere have made it damn near impossible to correct that crucial part of the equation. I don't know if we are ever going to get back to the Spurrier/Meyer level in my lifetime. For those who think its as simple as getting a better coach, I don't see a better coach who is available and even if he were I don't see this program replacing Mullen any time soon. He is going to be here for years and by that I don't mean 3 years I mean 5-6 minimum. So buckle up buttercup.

No he won't. He's the coach, not Chimp, Not Butters, and it will be obvious after the third year he will never get the job done.

I don't care how obvious it is, unless we are going 4-8 every year he is gonna be here longer than 3 years.

GTFOOH, Seriously, Get the Fùck out. No one, NO ONE, saw this BS coming and it’s all at the footsteps of the O & D play calling. Stick you progress up somewhere else. That don’t fly.
Who said anything about seeing it coming? I certainly didn’t. It sucks. But overreacting like a pre-teen sucks too. We were the better team in the first half but left some points on the field. FF didn’t look bad either. Fell apart in the second because we aren’t good in either trench and our LBs/safeties suck. Kind of surprising on the DL but as everyone expected on the OL and a lot of us thought at LB/safety. I personally think cece really hurt this team with his stupid multi game suspension. Instant upgrade at that buck LB/DE.

And looking for progress has been exactly what most have said, even our own Swonkey. I had us with 7-8 wins and hoping to see development on the line. So seriously, go cry in the corner and get the **** over it. Worst case scenario we dump this dude in 3 years and try again. Best case, this is an early embarrassment that gets righted.

I saw regression last night, maybe I'm getting old but I don't remember tackling being that bad....
It was a bad half for sure. First wasn’t terrible and Florida was the better team. Tackling and lack of DL push were surprising - at least to me. Don’t understand why we’ve struggled with it the last few years.

You fvkktards said that about Butterteef too bc he went to Atlanta.

And MuloinzMuloi be going 4-8, maybe even twice, probably.

By then he will have transformed our offense to the QB Keeper Offense and make it that much harder on the next coach.

2 games coached. It’s beyond impressive that people like you have made it into adulthood. He was left a roster void of talent and enthusiasm. This team is filled with pvssies. Recruit over every last one of them. We aren’t winning jack any time soon and it’s 99.9% Macs and Foley’s fault.

But I agree with anyone who thinks the game plan was lousy. No rhythm, rotated too many backs, too cute playcalling. But things like this make some of it make sense:

UF-41
UK-9

Florida will be pumped like we haven’t seen since the Ole Miss game. Even though it’s Kentucky, it’s the first game to really impose their will against a conference foe and see what they are capable of. I have a feeling we see a different O-line and the run game will be a bigger factor in this game. Ivey should be getting chewed out as I type this. Cece is back and the rest of the suspended players. We’ll see a little more creativity with Tony in the Percy position. I’m excited to see what real progress this team has made since last year. Thomas Goldkamp wrote a good breakdown of the game in his Game Grade article, and Florida knew what they wanted to do, and went out and did it. Hardly any mistakes or penalties was a great thing to see.

Happy surprise from CSU game- Freddie Swain. It was great to see him out there making big plays finally.

Sorry if I can't take your opinion seriously. A day or 2 ago you were sure the team would be, what were your words, "pumped like we haven't seen since the ole miss game":bwahaha:

So you thought Mullenz was the man, had the team razor sharp and we'd win by almost 5 TDs. Meanwhile I was telling everyone this was a dangerous game and there was a good chance the team would likely come out flat.

Now all a sudden you knew we'd shart the bed because, you know, Mac.

Mullen is who he is, 33-40, timid and confused at halftime after things went south in the first half. He's in his 10th year as a HC. But yeah, we have 2 games of data.

Overreaction. Just like you’re doing now. Nobody is getting fired after 2 games. You have 3 more seasons of it regardless.

Who is "you fvkktards?" Watch your mouth asshat.

My point is that we have been through so many coaches over the last decade and spent so much money that we ain't cutting another one loose any time soon. Sorry if you think Mullenz is gonna be issued his walking chit after two more seasons unless he really lowers the already low bar we have set around here.

Overreaction.

No one has said he is getting fired now.

And its really gonna be in 2.5 years, in October, probably after the third straight Ugly blowout loss.

Since we were so radically bad, these might as well be radically bad shake-ups ?

1) A usually valid stratagem mentioned is to keep so & so's offense off the field. How awful the truth for us it's "Florida's gotta keep Florida's defense off the field." ?

2) Sumus say the CSU game was misleading. Any chance this UK game is misleading?

3) If we had a QB that could take off like UK's QB, would we have been better?

4) Could K.Toney be that QB? (Had Lamar Jackson come here, he'd be slot or RB?)

5) BMF pointed out Mullen's marathon time was very poor. Ain't turning UF around gonna be a marathon?

6) Franks needs to be fleeter of foot. His runs are sluggish.

7) So much needs to be done and so much needs to be undone. Anybody up for it?

That I agree with, and I also definitely agree he's a lot better than that retard leading the semi-holes. I want to see EJ worked into the plan because that's what Mullen needs to run his offense.

I might be wrong, but I expect a big win next Saturday.

Talent obviously is the worst it's been in a long time. Butters' did a terrible job recruiting defense, and it's hitting us hard. O-line will be a problem as long as Ivey continues to play out of position and Johnson is in the game.

All that said, good coaching would still win that game. UK does not have a talent advantage. We're on the same level talent wise, but good coaches win those games. Mullen's history shows he beats teams with lesser talent, splits games with equal talent, and losses games against better talent. Things wouldn't be so disheartening if we had great talent on the way. It looks like we'll be nothing better than an average SEC East team (slightly below average SEC team) for the next several years, and that sucks.

Sack'em up? We just got our schit pushed in at home by Kentucky and you're response is "Sack'em up"?

Some of you have an eternal beacon of optimism, hope and blind faith that I pity you.

The team had a bad day all around, until we get the o-line and d-lines up to SEC standards games like last night are going to happen. If we had Nick Saban, who by the way went 7-6 his first year at Alabama, we’d probably get the same results this year. Fixing the mess left behind by the previous two regimes is going to take time, you can’t fix 8 years of ineptitude in 9 months. I’m not sure if Mullen is the right guy or not but burning everything down and having a hissy fit after game 2 is a little extreme. You probably would have wanted Spurrier fired after he lost 45-3 to Tennessee his first season.

Been watching Gator football for half a century and can't remember seeing both lines of scrimmage look this inept. And this was against a really bad team and a Ky team thats will probably lose 4-5 games.
At times it was almost embarrassing to watch the line play or lack of, I swear on Ky's long touchdown throw their QB could have eaten a ham sammitch back there.
To say Mullen has his hands full is a understatement. I have faith he can turn it around but its going to take time. I'll be the first to admit The "In all kinds of weather" is getting harder to live by.

Revisionist history always drives me nuts. Spurrier had already beaten Bama on the road and Miss St and LSU at home before that 45-3 Tenn game. Tennessee was a top 5 team and that game was in Rocky Top. No comparison to losing your first home conference game to an average Kentucky squad.

I love that you put a "t" in the word "sammitch."

The only alternatives to #7 are:
1. Abandoning ship.
2. Losing my f'ing mind and going off on anybody with a different opinion, (disagreements - good / Insults - bad).
3. Try to act like an adult and be as patient as possible as things unfold.

Speaking only for myself, 1 & 2 unacceptable and 3, unattractive though it might be, is the only viable alternative for now. Like any fan, I have the right to criticize and complain when I feel the the situation calls for it. I've already exercised that "right" in another post. But the extreme personal insults are the result of misdirected anger and serve no constructive purpose in light of the monumental task that lays in wait for DM, or very possibly his successor. Stay tuned, its going to be a bumpy ride.
