Opinion: Mike Bobo, Colorado State football finally get significant win at perfect time by stunning Arkansas

No other way would have been fitting.

Pure drama.

Chaos at Canvas (Stadium).

How else do you describe the CSU football team being down 18 points in the third quarter before rallying for a stunning 34-27 win over Arkansas.

The first signature win for Mike Bobo in his fourth season as head coach of CSU and it couldn’t have come at a better time for an ailing team

The Colorado State University fan base was spitting fire after an 0-2 start that looked like 2018 was destined to be a disaster of a season.

Then Saturday happened.

More: 3 thoughts as Colorado State stuns Arkansas football team with comeback win

Not only did CSU beat an SEC team (for just the second time in program history), but the Rams did it in stunning fashion that will earn them some air time on ESPN's SportsCenter.

Fans left the stadium chanting "I'm proud to be a CSU Ram'', which was music to the program's ears.

Bobo needed this. His Rams needed this. The fans needed this.

What perfect timing.

More: CSU football shocks Arkansas to salvage what looked like it could have been a lost season

There’s no one more desperate for success than Bobo. He’s hobbling his way along the sideline as he receives treatment for numbness in his feet that put him in the hospital for 10 days before the start of the season.

@onlygators: Florida opens as a 19.5-point favorite next week vs. Colorado State. Not sure why, exactly. #Gators

Run the damn ball. Force these big sissy’s to run Block and rush for whatever we can get. This is the last game where they’re going to get a chance to real time go against a team they should beat all year. If we don’t, and we come out throwing 40 times again, we are purely fkd

Colorado State is trash in rush defense and is trash running the ball themselves so I hope Mullen doesn't get cute again and think it is smart to let Franks throw a lot on first down trying to build his confidence with that BS reasoning.

Colorado State should bring their own backlit money clock that ticks off like the national debt clock and set it up behind their bench. At $2,000,000 for 60 minutes of play, they'll be making $555 per SECOND. If you also include the $1,000,000 that quiver lips also had to personally pay them... it comes out to $833 per second.

Im not sure we can score 19 points.

I just hope they dont dominate us on both sides and that we keep it close again.

Im pretty sure those were RPOs. People think that RPOs mean QB keepers, and sometimes it is, but in Mullinz system it is often that TD play we saw when FF puts the ball in Scarletts belly and reads the LB. A slot slant was also being run. So if the LB drops to cover the RB gets a slightly delayed handoff and if the LB fills the hole, FF throws the slant behind him.

So the number of passes may well have been bc Kintucky was trying to stuff the run and force the pass, not bc of the number of passes called.

After Saturday’s football Zombies impersonation, the wind is out of my 2018 positive attitude sails... :eek3:

If that is the main reason then defenses will keep doing it a lot probably if it means Franks passing the ball more.

Hopefully we decide to take an opponent seriously this week.
I haven't heard this angle enough.
I think there's a lot to this. Chauncey guaranteed a win and I was very perplexed by that. Coming off a 4-win season you'd think they'd be hungrier and not focusing on stuff like that.

Fact: Beat them and we've beaten a team that beat Arkansas.
Truly, it's time specific players improve = like all of them.
Time to quit crumminess cold turkey.
Time for Mullen to start earning his keep, since GatorNation has to keep him.
Way overdue to overdo in the ground game: run like the win.
Us fans need to pull these Gators through any rough patch. For now, we're a rough-patched team.
? We gonna root for bitter daze or better days?? Grow Gators, dah duh dah.

I think your on to something, attitude or a lack of a BADASS attitude is missing with out big uglys. I don't want to call them Pu$$ys but they seem mighty soft to me, where is that snot and blood and steam coming out of their nose..........I know I'm old s school but I think a Marine drill Sargent would do this guys some good.
