That is some real doom and gloom from these guys.

Might go 0-8 in the SEC

Mullen didn't realize how bad each side was because they were practicing against each other

Season is over with a loss...

They definitely read Gatorchatter, their whole webcast was almost verbatim of here .

Especially the part, "you guys are down on them", that can't be coming from Swamp Ass pumpers

This team needs a player to stand up and dare his teammates to get better.

Just like after Game 1, the doom and gloom is an emotional overreaction. This team isn't that bad.
As I've stated in another thread, I think Chauncey's guarantee was indicative of why we lost that game.
This team is in more dire need of leaders than it is of talent. It's cliche, but Kentucky wanted that game more.
Our players were too busy basking in the previous 31 games. And exhibiting brash bravado and braggadocio usually associated with teams that have actually accomplished something.

I truly believe this team was humbled and embarrassed by what transpired last Saturday.
That still doesn't change the fact that the Oline is horrible. Or that the QB is average to below average. Or any of our other ailments. But I think they'll play harder this week. They drank the Kool-aid in a major way last week.

None of this is a surprise. There was rot in the locker room leftover from Mac. Mullen's trying to change the culture while rewriting the playbook. This is gonna get worse before it gets better, but it will get better in time.

We're really just biding time until NSD to determine whether this gets marginally better or a whole lot better.

I agree. This team is not losing to Colorado state.

This game will show better effort than last week. The roster is still depleted, but there is enough talent on the roster to win on Saturday. They were embarrassed at home, and they should be embarrassed.

We will win by double digits.

I think if Reese can come back, he will. I think he was one of the ones last year calling out the team for lack of effort.

I make no secret of my opinion of Dooley that he is a has-been UAA mouthpiece (I'm ok with Robbie), but man oh man, you know its bad when these two guys are saying everything about this program sucks 2 games into the season. Very interesting.

I've heard them down before. Let's see after this week.

You've heard them suggesting after week two that we are likely to go 0-8 in SEC play and may not win another game if we lose this weekend, which they also said is now very plausible? Sure I've heard them "down" after the UAA lets them know they're about to can the coach. I remember them being the last off the boat with Zook, then Chump, and then Mac. I can't ever recall this level of candor/doom after 2 games when the UAA hadn't told them the ax was imminent.

To be clear, I know the ax is not coming, it's just, sobering, to see these two saying this so early.

Traditionally, we've played cupcakes, Kentucky(31 game win streak), Vandy and UT early in the season.
We usually win those games, so there's no need to be down in the earlier part of the season. Even in our down years we typically start off pretty well because of scheduling(last year notwithstanding).

I can't believe Mullen said that the coaches were fooled about how bad the team was, because they only saw then practicing against each other and didn't realize it until they saw them playing against somebody else. Is this a professional coaching staff for an SEC team, or are they volunteer Dads coaching Pop Warner? WTF!?! They don't know good vs. bad football when they see it? That is a disheartening thing to hear.
I'm not sure what you're getting at. Are you just trying to be mad at something?
I've coached on the Pop Warner level for quite some time. I also played amateur football as a child.
I could coach a team for a full year in practice and still not have a clue about that team.
One of the biggest hurdles for a coach is trying to anticipate how your players will play when the bullets are live.
NO PLAYER practices like they play. NONE! You put them in situations to closely simulate game conditions, but it's impossible to actually replicate games. It's different when you have returning players. You already have a good idea of the team formation. But having all new players makes it a crap shoot.

If you're gonna blast the coach, try being more informed. It's only week 2 with a new coach. I know you're suffering. We all are. But be fair with the guy.
I'm not the type to protect the coach at every turn, because sometimes the criticism is warranted. But I'll always come to the defense of the coaches or players for undue criticism. And your criticism is whack!

These guys are OK , Dooley never met a chicken wing he didn't like and Robbie is the Vince McMann of Podcasts. Both are easier to listen to with a, no make that after a six pack.
Two more beers and I'll be ready.

Dooley and Andreu think we suck?

My outlook on the season just became more optimistic.

If Butters MacShark brought in subpar talent and then did nothing, how can any coach turn it around in 2 games?

And if Miss St looks good this year why is this not Mullen?
