Who is going? Imma be there.

I’m actually a little hesitant because I don’t want to jinx it. I haven’t seen the Gators win a game in person in two decades. The last 3 games I’ve been to were the 2000 Sugar bowl vs Miami, the 2007 Outback Bowl vs meet chicken, and 2016 vs FSU in the Swamp.

I was toying with the idea, but too many other obligations.

Finally, the chance I’ve been waiting for, to exact my revenge!
I’ll probably infect you with a plague that will wreak havoc on your tribe. But aside from that it’s gonna be fun.

I’m trying to find a tailgate spot, but tailgating apparently sucks at Vandy. I’ll keep all informed here, but it would likely be a post-game tailgate, since it’s an 11am kickoff. Forecast right now is high of 70 and mostly sunny for Saturday. There is usually a blowout Gator Club party on Friday night - huge turnout. The Gator Alumni meetup is also usually big.

2016 vs Fsu was played in Tallacrappy.

I think this is actually a really good measuring stick for Mullen. Can he keep this team focused and prevent a letdown after a massive victory over LSU? Mullen has said in all of his recent press conferences that he's been trying to get the team to buy into the fact that if they have a good week at practice they will play well and be prepared. They didn't buy in during the UK week but have bought in since and the results have showed. If we dominate this game I will be fully on the Mullen train.

Cool. Don’t forget, kickoff is at 7:00. Probably want to get there around 5 or so, just to be safe. Have a good time.

With that track record, I really think you should stay home.

We doing morning practices? Gotta get these guys ready to hit in the AM over there in Central Time.

Year in and year out, this is always a grind and one of the strangest games of the season.

Hell my track record isn’t any worse than anybody who’s had season tickets for the last eight years.

UF's recent bad staffs have had trouble getting teams ready to play games like this. It will be interesting to see if Mullen has the guys ready to play and playing well this week.

Doing my best to get there Saturday.

Don't get cocky, one game at a time, stay focused. Big game before the open date.

While I’ve been to 3 SECCGs, several UGA games in Jax and neutral site games in Tampa and Orlando, Vandy is the only road SEC game I’ve been to - in 2002. I was working on a Masters degree in TN and a Gator buddy offered me a ticket.

Had a great time with my friend but it was a surreal, depressing atmosphere. It was a noon EST kickoff, which meant 11am local time. There was zero interest or energy on campus about the game. Few tailgates scattered around, one restaurant/bar open that was packed but nothing else. Zero indication a game was on that day.

The stadium was battleship gray - like a ship for the Commodore, get it? Dull. The sky was gray, as it is there from October through April. There were 6,000 Gator fans tucked in one corner and about 3,000 Vanderbilt fans scattered around the rest of the stadium. Had it been a ship it would have tipped over.

With so few fans, concessions were paltry and bad. I love a hot pretzel at a game. Theirs was cold and hard.

The game was dull despite being Grossman v. Jay Cutler. The Gators won 21-17 but looked listless.
