After Muschamp was fired he gave a press conference and sounded somewhat level headed. There was literally a thread on SG about "Should we have kept Muschamp?" Butters gets hired and you'd think we just brought in the next Spurrier. He gets blown out the last 3 games, goes to OT vs. 3-9 FAU, and you better not DARE say a negative thing - it was Muschamp's fault!! (the same guy who had a 10 page thread about "should we have kept him?").

I was one of the founding members of gatorcountry. I've drank beers w/ Ray (Solari), Franz, Bob Redman, and many others from that site. I started the thread "breaking" the Zook got into a fight at the frat house (I knew a local sports radio/tv guy who told me and it hadn't made the news yet so I started the thread. It was probably the longest thread in swampgas history).

I left there in the 2008 season when they let PD run rampant in the 'insiders' forum (the pay board). I rejoined w/ a new username about 2012 or so. I was posting regularly until jhbyrd started posting there and I was done with it.

The homerism is too much. I get it that being "negative" is bad for their business model....but being realistic is not "negative".

I was a pumper back in the days you came on board and I remember getting into with you, well, mainly you flogging me and telling me I should go to SG with my sunshine pump.
I’m over all that now, pumperism that is; and I don’t hold grudges as it takes too much effort. :bandit:
Anyway, I know I speak for many others that we are grateful you found GCMB and bring all that you do, links and discussions.
Thanks and Cheers BMF!

How so? Is my memory wrong that they had some run-in w SID over breaking some negative story?

Have they always been so Emporer Has No Clothes or is it just lately? I've read there from time to time, I like some of their authors. I probably even have an account but I've long since forgotten the password.

I honestly dont remember. Ive only regularly posted on Swampy's Rumormill (loved Ole Swampy) and GSMB/GCMB.

I don't know how mandated pumperism is good for a business model especially when reality can't be ignored.

Squi - There are people here completely ripping Gator Country that have not been banned from Gator Country. You do understand that right?

Your accusation is completely false.

I challenge you to unlock my account and let me start a thread ripping the moderators of THFSG and lets see what happens.

Like myself eh? Well I have never banned a single poster in my life. Me thinks you must be wanting your herpes to be injected from another mod.

But at least you keep it classy my Gator brutha.

My post said “flex”, nothing about banning capability.

You can’t be just a little pregnant. You are either “Management “ or you’re not. You are Management.

...and my point was always that this is not the culture you should foster.
Okay, I'll bite. What culture should I foster? Pumperism? Homerism? Dumperism? I want your thoughts.

How about whatever culture that makes you the most money? After all I think this site is at least an investment.

I'm going to say this much. In my interactions Tilly, you have always been a class act. I've said here that with few exceptions, I have no problem with a good portion of the people on the Gas. However, the homerism on the Board is a little much at times.

You know I pump when I can and dump when warranted. You guys let me do my thing and even debate people. However, after a while it takes a told where people are trying to convince me that 4 straight years of Nuss not having a top 100 offense (including Michigan) was simply because he didn't have LDR. Also, I didn't participate on boards for the better part of 8 months after last season as I finished law school. I came back here and posted a Takes and haven't spent much time since.

Hope you are doing well, but I am curious, if I posted a link to one of my Takes in the thread asking what happened to them, would it be removed?

I believe that's exactly what I've done. It's only a matter of time now. GC is the biggest only because they've been around the longest, not because they are the best board.

It's not necessarily the authors, they actually do a pretty good job and put out some good info. The "pumperism" is from the board membership. It's a gang mentality that will clobber you if you anything that is even slightly perceived as "negative" (even if it's reality). They have a bunch of different "ratings" and you'll get 'down-voted' and basically harrassed until you no longer enjoy it. It's like Antifa over there! And god forbid you have less than a few hundred posts, then you're a "troll" or a "Nole" or some other message board 'insult'.

Did you see me Takes, it may have been my "Check out this Kid name Toney" post, where I told people to just hit the come on man button before reading?

Wait, couldn't have been the Toney one because it was very positive feedback and I felt weird afterward for asking for the downvote...

As long as it abided by rules it would be OK I assume. I mean obviously the site will protect its best interest...but I think Ray is secure enough to hear folks out. He is a very nice guy. Thats part of why he wants the site to be that way.

Cmon man...The board imploded on Mac...and rightfully so. I think you guys forget there is a pay side there...The rules are much less strict. Former players post there and even they unloaded on Mac.

I am a mod of many years...and posted the first thread proclaiming he would be fired the day before the UGA game. I actually beat a couple of our insiders to the punch. I posted it on the free board with the blessing of Admin because zi knew it would be a big deal and didnt want to trum any insiders with better intel.

If I being a mod felt fine posting that...where in the world do you get that the board was supporting Mac. The board went south on Mac after the close call at UK. It was floodgate city at that point.

The site does have a language policy. No F bombs or GD's...but there were always threads questioning Mac and Chump...always. We just required them to remain civil.
