So stupid how kids rise and fall hundreds of positions every two weeks, and even during the summer.Black was just dropped about 100 spots by 247's composite ranking (to 146th overall).
I actually have a feeling that we're going to see a few guys declare for the draft. Not the LB corp, unless Joseph keeps putting up 14 tackles and 2 sacks a game the rest of the way. I also think we process a lot of guys out. Who knows how many and where. If he's a two year guy, I don't see an issue. If he's a 3-year guy, you may risk having recruits look elsewhere.Agree, and it's telling about the others (Miller, Brunson, Jackson). This kids a 4-star and has an impressive offer list, which is good. But he's committed to UT right now.
FSU offered Bertrand today. Not sure if he plans to visit.
Here's a mock class from another source. I'd rather see a Safety added than Beasley (who is 6' 220 already - we have plenty of guys that size). I don't see Whittemore staying at Safety either (he's 6'3 205 right now);

Is Diwun Black no longer a good player because they dropped his rating? They dropped it because he's not playing this year to concentrate on his academics. Is Dionte Marks not tearing it up this season because he's underrated?Man every week we get closer to December I feel more anxious about where we are in recruiting. Not sure why Black had dropped by nearly 100 spots in ranking. We are now ranked 25 on Rivals with 15 commits on the board. I know we will not see the LSU game recruiting weekend materialize immediately, but kids are committing to other schools during the season and we are still striking out. TN is now ranked in the top 10. FSU is still at top 13 with the $h1t show they have to offer. On the face of it Mullen seems to be putting effort into recruiting, but not getting it done yet. Are we just lacking in staff when it comes to recruiting? Donno.

What did the #1 rated class of 2010 ever get us?
They also contributed to 7-6 and a 4-8 record on the years bracketing 2012.Certainly not declaring Black not a good player all of a sudden. Didn't know he was not playing this year though. The number 1 rated class in 2010 contributed to 11-2 in 2012 despite having WM.... just saying.
No way around it. If we are expecting to compete with UGA and ultimately Alabama at SECCG level and playoffs level in the next 3-4 years, recruiting needs to pick up significantly and close on our targets.

Clearly talent alone does not win championships. Similarly, coaching alone does not either. To think we can compete for anything substantial with a team talent ranked in the teens to twenties is nonsense. We are not just talking about Alabama and Georgia here. 10 SEC teams and FSU are all out recruiting us at the moment. Recruiting at that level is just not going to get it done.
Just hoping for a good showing on Early signing day at the moment.
The data is pretty clear that this seasons record doesnt affect THIS season's recruiting. Either the article or podcast bt Gators Breakdown did a lot of stats on this.Man every week we get closer to December I feel more anxious about where we are in recruiting.
