Tyrie Cleveland should move to FS. Prove me wrong.

Surprised by all the vitriol.

Settle down fellas. We're all Gators.

I just started the thread as a "what if". We're playing Vandy so its been a slow week. Just looking for some conversation. Cleveland has bad hands and they aren't getting better. Pure wood. A thread about him needing to work the JUG machine isn't interesting. Moving him to FS, that's interesting.

Hell, we could argue whether Riley Cooper would have been a better FS than a WR and he put together a nice little NFL career. It's just speculation. Besides, Dre Massey is now a back-up Cornerback because of injury. What about Jacob Krull? He was a HS QB and a baseball player and he's playing TE for us. Don't get your panties in a wad.

Here's the switch I really wanted to see...in 1994ish we had a center on our first Final Four basketball team named Dametri Hill (known for his signature shot, "da meat hook"). He was allegedly 6'7", wide body, long arms, light on his feet. I think he could have been a great TE. Like really great.

Have fun with the thread. Stop being whiny.

Alex.

Was it Lex Smith who played QB for us before Spurrier got here, then buried on the depth chart he moved to DE? My recollection is that he got a sack in 1990 or maybe 1991.

Athletic QB Donald Douglas left UF for Houston I think because according to him they "play black QBs". Houston ended up moving him to Safety.

Tony Gonzalez and Antonio Gates were both basketball players. Did Gates even play college FB???

What about that Hogan kid in New England? 4 years of lacrosse and then one year (barely) of football as some nowhere school.

What about Kyle Trask? He didn't play football in high school or college. OK, that's a joke. I'm just trolling. Stop it.

I got your multi sport/actor right here. Went from the basketball court and diamond to the old west as Lucas Mcain........the rifleman.
Kevin Joseph Aloysius “Chuck” Connors was an American actor, writer and professional basketball and baseball player. He is one of only 12 athletes in the history of American professional sports to have played both Major League Baseball and in the National Basketball Association.

I'm interested in these "so many drops." Which games did they happen?

He's looked great as a gunner on the punt team and he knows how to tackle, I'll give him that.

Hmm, I must be blind... clutch receiver and Cleveland is less than substantiated... with that I’m not lobbying for position change, but I’m still waiting on this stardom illusion going on here. No issues with hustle on STs but traffic catching, might want to reevaluate that premise, just saying.

Cleveland is our clear cut #2 receiver. No reason at all to move him to safety
Clear cut?

Im not lobbying for a position change but he lets the ball get to his shoulder pads way too often.

I can only remember him dropping one ball this season. I don't think he's been thrown to enough to pile up a bunch of drops.

Cleveland is a good WR who I think would make a good safety.

That’s all I got.

Exactly what I was thinking. He could switch just not sure it’s needed. He’s a good WR and can stretch the field.

I'll be blaming Alex the first time Cleveland drops an easy pick six.

I think you guys have #89 mixed up with #80. I've only seen Cleveland drop 4 or 5 balls in 3 years, Lewis drops everything.

I haven't given any thought to moving Cleveland, but I do think we should have moved Lemons to CB, this summer, if not sooner.

Cleveland almost always pulls an opposing safety into his route or side of the field which is why Swain, Grimes and others are getting open.....oh and he's been blocking like a banshee on WR screens and such too...

This guy would be putting up big numbers in a pass happy offense and I'll bet a dollar right now he makes a couple of huge plays for us down the stretch.

He always seems to catch the ball with his body. Not sure what numbers he'd put up.
