Closing on both our houses

So we will be closing on the sale of our current house and closing on our new home on the same day. Anyone have any experience with this and how to deal with the move? They are saying there will be a walk thru of the sale of our house on a Monday and then close on that Tuesday. I am guessing we will have to have all our stuff out of the house that day? Should we rent a U-Haul truck and just leave it parked overnight in the court? Hard to see how this is going to work without us being homeless for a night Lol. Any tips from people with experience with this situation? Thanks!

that sounds pretty smart to me. If you can move in the next day and get it all on that big truck.

My parents just did this. See if you can close on the purchase a day or two earlier.

No cause we have to close on the sale of our house and that payment goes into the down payment of our new house...

Eek. That's a tight time frame. How long before both? If you don't want to do a haul you can get a Pod. They will take it to and from, but can get a little expensive. If the moves not far just get the Uhaul and by a case of beer for the friends to help.

It depends on how quickly your buyers need to move into the home you are selling to them. Possession can be negotiated. We recently purchased and closed on a home in Colorado, but the home the sellers were moving to was not ready for occupancy due to construction delays. They needed a few more days past the closing date before they could move in to their new home. This was not a problem for us as we are moving from Florida and will not actually be moving our household until early December. We contracted to 'rent' post closing what was now our home to our sellers for the extra time they needed.
