What is the reason for Mullen's perceived cap?

Its very painful for you I know but it blatantly obvious Trask is a better passer than Franks. Like I said, that doesn't make him good, just a better passer.
Trask is pretty accurate on short stuff. That TD pass was great. Hammond was covered but the other guys were covered more. He took the best option and threw it well.

However, he doesn't have that arm that the giraffe had to beat you essentially the entire depth of the field or hit those deep outs but those have been coming at a much much slower pace.

But Trash can't run, or even move in the pocket, at all. That is the problem. This offense does not block a DL on every play. The QB is supposed to read that guy and make him choose, DL crashes on the RB, QB keeps, DL stays home, give to RB. That is the offense. That is 60-70% of the plays.

That just doesn't work with a guy who cannot run at all.

Yes, Franks wasn't a much of a runner either but you need at least a threat.

When they decided they weren't playing EJ at all this year, they should have thrown away the playbook and used the old Leak playbook with a FB. At least we'd have a running game. Now we have nothing. It's not like you can install a new playbook in a week.

You keep repeating the whole Trask cant run thing but we are basically all clueless about that because he has not been given the opportunity. He may not be a runner but like you say, Franks isn't either. So, what is the difference? Might as well have a more accurate passer that cant run vs an inaccurate passer who cant run.

We've got terrific running backs. I'm unclear why they were left out early, the stuffs notwithstanding. You keep trying to find ways to get them holes and in space.

Because the run games don't work without a running QB. And FRanks isn't a running QB either.

Also bc our OL sucks.

Poor Donkey. All his Trask bashing backfired on him today. He needs a hug.

That's a blanket statement that doesn't work. We've had great success running the ball this year. This was against the nation's 84th-ranked defense.

She me the stats.

And I will try to explain the playbook again.

It's all I can do.

Youre an idiot. Trash played over a quarter and scored one TD. Even if he had started and kept that pace up, we dont score 38.

Plus now teams have a little film and know what he cant do (move) or beat them deep.

He played when Mizzou knew we had to throw the ball so they played like it. In spite of that Trask had better numbers in essentially 1 quarter than Franks had in 3. It’s painfully obvious Trask is better no matter how you frame it.

The issue isn't whether he maybe be a "better passer" (ie accuracy, especially now that Franks has really fallen apart), the issue is if he fits the playbook.

The “issue” is who gives us a better chance to win by NOT hurting us.

We already know he doesn't fit but if we stick with Franks we may lose the rest of the games this year. Play EJ.

Even you have to admit the bar Franks leaves is low. You have to make a change regardless of the risk.
What risk is there really? Franks was never the future. EJ and JJ are.

He was given what I think everyone would say was a very fair shot. He wasn't pulled the first game he sucked. He has sucked for 6 weeks. So they can used that with us vs recruits, that you won't get a fair shot.

If he is absolutely NOT playing EJ, then play Trash, and find some way to run without the option.

I just don't know how you do it in a week. Grab the old Butters playbook I guess.

And you have a separate playbook for Trash and EJ. That is bad for an OL and team that is struggling anyway. Lots of problems ahead now that the Franks experiment is (hopefully) over.
