Franks mistakes didn't lose us the UGA game. We weren't beating them with this defense. They could've named their score.
We'll have to disagree on that one. One great play can change the dispositon of a game just like one spectacular failure. We saw Franks do both and yet the game was still in contention. Even Chalky White understands this :-).

The job of the UF head coach is to:

1A. Put an exciting offense and product on the field

1B. Win games.

1C. Have his team ready to play every week and quit having to go the OT to beat FAU or having to block a punt the last play of the game to beat ULALA or being dominated by the likes UMo or UK.

When the $6 million man accomplishes 1A, 1B AND 1C, then UF fans will fill the Swamp week in and week out. Then the students will be there. Then the crowd will the excited. Until then, it will be more shopping in Orlando.

I was there. When he had time, no one was open because they had 8 in coverage. When they rushed more than 4 he didn’t have time to do anything. Franks ain’t good, but our OL is much worse.

MJM has pin-pointed the areas needing improvement = development. That is #1) OL,OL,
OL ---#2) WRs moves to get clear ( juke the hell out of their DB) -- #3) cannot tie our fate to this inexplicably inaccurate slow-thinking QB.

Fans only ask for step by step improvement, not backsliding into past bumbling play.
Fans will come to see the "Fighting Gators". We watched in our 8th game UF perform non-competitively against an 0-4 SEC team. There was zero fight displayed.

You have two FCS teams on the home slate this year, Charleston Southern and the Hoe of Ida.

Next season, you have another two FCS teams on the slate, UT-Martin and Towson. We should be scheduling only 1 FCS opponent per season, and if that, I'd rather see us play a military academy or MAC school than an FCS team. You can't expect enthusiastic season ticket purchasing with lackluster play and lackluster scheduling.

2020 is set with 12 games and only 1 FCS team (Hee Haw's Eastern Washington) and 2021 has only 1 FCS so far with Samford. Let's keep it that way.

This was the ticket to padding the record at Cowbell, softening the schedule by playing 4 chumps OOC. No doubt it continues here as well. Have to show "improvement" with that record.

Actually you put the elephant in the room 3rd but maybe you did not mean to order them?

UF needs better QB play. UF had receivers running open all over the field yestderday and Franks could not hit them. BTW, a good QB can at time throw a receiver open, but that was not needed yesterday. Franks was not sacked yesterday and really not rushed much.

As far as running the ball, UF never committed to the run yesterday. Given the offense and skils of the players in the game, that is quite odd to me.

Give us something to get excited about and watch the stadium fill up. We want high-flying offenses with QB's lighting up the scoreboard with 300+ yards passing on a bad day. This crap we've been shoveled the last 10 years of 3 yards and a cloud of dust is boring as hell to watch. Any coach coming in here with an Old Mother Hubbard offense better win and win quickly, or me and a lot of other Gators are going to lose interest fast. It is what it is at this point.

It's ridiculous that with all of the talent in this state to run a wide open offense, our AD's just keep bringing in guys who think offense is a dirty word. The old argument goes, "Well would you rather lose 52-50 or win 10-7?" is the standby for those who love Old Mother Hubbard, but I say give me the 52-50 loss any day of the week. If we can score 50 on anyone, then at least we have a chance every game. There's enough talent in the state of Florida where even if we recruited only 4*'s with high 3*'s we could field a defense good enough to hold teams to 35. I just want to be able to watch a Gators game again and not feel like the game is out of reach once the opponent breaks the 20 point barrier. Is that too much to ask?

I cannot imagine not attending every game I can. Always have fun.....more fun when we win (and I spend more money).

But I get it with those who can only support a top shelf, elite team. It can be a long way to travel and an expensive weekend to support a team that loses games.

You have to really, really enjoy the trip to make it worthwhile.

Eactly, UF should never play a FCS team. UF should always be good enough to beat mid-major or lowere FBS teams with ease.

Haven't been to a home game in a few years. Prices for tickets have gotten ridiculous compared to the alternatives. The game day experience has changed pretty dramatically from the SOS days as well. If Mullen and UF want to bitch about the fans, maybe they need to look in the mirror. Maybe this thread should be more about what UF can do to make it worth our while. I mean, if you're going to put shyt on the field, you may want to provide some value.

How about they quit restricting student tickets to students only. Oh I know, you can pay to switch it, but that just adds another layer of inconvenience.

How about finding a way to make it easier to get to the stadium? And out of town?

Maybe they just need to lower prices and switch a bunch of student tickets to season tickets.

Maybe if they actually do make the game day experience better, they can try to communicate it so people know about it.

Oh, and finally, maybe Mullen can STFU. A great many of us didn't want him to begin with. We certainly don't need to be chastised when he can't even get his guys up for Homecoming! Which by the way, make Gator Growl worthwhile too.

Our home games didn't become automatic sellouts until Spurrier arrived. We had a huge number of consecutive sellouts during his reign.

The formula has really always been the same, but more so now than before. Win football games. Everything else falls into place.

I remember it being packed in the 80s, as well.

Probation tends to dampen the enthusiasm.
That had a big impact. But he was never the recruiter that Pell was.

Pell was to UF what Butch Davis was to Miami. Likewise, their successors followed suit until the talent well dried up.

Opening up more student tix to others and lowering prices would be nice.

But I’m not having any difficulty getting to the stadium. They now block off University Ave and there is parking all over the area.

We always arrive no later than Friday and never leave until Sunday so no real traffic getting to or from Gainesville. You have to book hotels early and the closer they are the more you pay. Whenever possible we try to stay at the Holiday Inn on University and 13th. Costs a small fortune but the game and bars are within walking distance.....important because we tend to partake in adult beverages pretty much as soon as we get there.

I’ve been pissed off in my share of losses but I have never failed to thoroughly enjoy the getaway weekend to Gainesville.

Truthfully, Mullen did not "call out" diss the fans. He said: "you (reporters), the fans are not there for all that = meaning we're not there to observe who does what the best in practices, in the film studies, skull sessions, etc.

That Missouri loss painted MullnCrew into a corner. There's gonna be smearage no matter how he gets out. For this I'm glad = Mullins is not a BS artist. He answers with on-field conclusions. That means "wait & see" for folks who have seen enough, for folks who've used up their patience waiting 'til next year. So, right now HC and us are at odds.
That's mostly 'cause the Gators should not have played like losers facing Missouri.

Cocks took a boatload of people to Old Piss, I would expect them to travel well to G-ville.
