Are you telling me he wasn't the OC and/or QB coach for all of them? Are you really claiming there wasn't a huge drop off when Daz was OC instead of Mullen? Who's making sh*t up!

Your argument sure seems to be a whole lot of circular bullsh*t. Of course there are nuances, and playing to strengths and staying away from weaknesses certainly plays a role in what they do, but they run basically the same system. Regardless, the fact of the matter is Mullen took two QB's that weren't highly recruited and turned them into NFL QB's (you think maybe, just maybe, being at Utah and MSU had something to do with needing to take lower rated QB's...) Even supposing it wasn't his scheme, he still turned them into NFL QB's, which most would consider more impressive than turning a 5 star into an NFL QB. The one highly recruited QB he got, who said Mullen played a huge role in his commitment to UF, btw, he turned into a Heisman winner and perhaps the greatest college QB of all time. Why do you think EJ chose UF over OSU and Bama? Why do you think JJ chose UF over OSU and Bama? If they care about winning and getting to the NFL, as you stated, why didn't both choose OSU or Bama?

So what position does Meyer have trouble landing? WR? Funny, he's got the #2 and #23 WR's in this year's class, and three 4-stars signed with OSU last year, which is the same as the year before. TE? He got last year's #2 TE, and his commitment this year chose that crappy offense for a TE over Bama's. OL? You guessed it, a 5 star and two 4-stars thus far this year, which is the exact same as last year. Man, it sure is hard to recruit for that offense.

There literally isn't a single analyst in the country that doesn't think Mullen is a great QB coach. So should we believe the guy on a message board, who's talents haven't landed him a job on a sideline or in the booth, or the guys that get paid to analyze college football. Are you really trying to tell us you know more than Gary Danielson? How about Tim Tebow? Remind me again who's suffering from the DK effect?

We all hate what UF has become, but even a woman can see what's "literally happening" is a 4-7 team is now 6-3, despite being handcuffed by both a lack of talent and players that don't fit the system. Hell hath no fury...

If you guys are done w/ your pissing contest I'll go ahead and post up some recruiting info:

We have some visitors this weekend for the SC game:

5-star DE Kayvoon Thibadeaux & 4-star DE Derick Hunter for official visits.

LB commits D. Black, M. Diabate, and T. Hopper will be unofficial's.

And a handful of 2020 kids, including Gainesville QB Anthony Richardson.

Huh, thought KT got here the past weekend. Thanks for the updates.

At least we put on a good show for them.

Please don't get me started!! But, seriously, we did get two underclassman commits (one from a pretty good 2020 DT). The 2020 class is off to a good start; I predict the 2020 class inside the top 8 (hopefully top 5 before it's over).

Nice to see diabate and Hopper come back. Need to solidify Hopper. Also can’t stand Hunter and it’s said he’s like a 7th/8th option if we don’t get certain uncommitted/flips to happen

I don’t get all the hoopla around Hunter.

He’s ok. Was once top 150 I believe. Rather get handy or Eboigbe as SDE, Summerall, Byron young as WDE. There’s a few out there. Don’t know why we won’t go after Sorrells. He’s a short DT but we could use more depth there.

Seems there’s a good chance we get a third on Tuesday from a kid that was going to commit but his dad wanted to hold off to make sure it wasn’t just a visit high

I’ve seen tape of Hunter. He’s okay. Not elite from what I’ve seen.

LOL, you've moved the goalposts more than Dims in the Kavanaugh confirmation. First it was, "it's one of the only positions I could see kids want to play here next year." Then it became, "QB, obviously if they're runners," but when I pointed he's had a Heisman winner and two NFL QB's (hint: you have to do more than run to win A Heisman or play QB in the NFL), it became, "well, they didn't commit to his system." Beside the fact that Dak committed to his system and he was the main recruiter for Tebow, I'm pretty sure both his and Urban's systems employ inside and outside zones and zone read, counters, traps, quarterback power, and the option game with a few jet sweeps mixed in. Both passing games utilize spread formations, with focuses on quick passes, shallow crosses, pivots, and of course verticals. Again, there are nuances for each, and players (or lack thereof) determine changes, but it's the same broad principles, and anyone with half a football brain would agree. Mullen and three assistants joined Meyer to visit Louisville and then Northwestern, Purdue and West Virginia, looking to blend ideas from each program after Meyer became Bowling Green’s head coach in 2001. When all the coaches returned to Bowling Green, Ohio, they gathered in an office at Doyt Perry Stadium for a series of meetings over two weeks, diagramming concepts on a grease board and then converting it to computer. “Obviously it was a very small foundation at that time,” Mullen said, “that has grown into a very big house now, all the people that are running OUR style of offense.'”

But yeah, Smith and Tebow committed to Meyer's system and Mullen had nothing to do with it...

The scheme is what it is. We've tried other schemes and failed miserably over the past eight years. The good news there are tons of high schools running that system and more NFL teams are incorporating running QB's into their systems. I agree that the system wasn't well-suited in the past, but that's changing. And hate to break it to you, but Dak going from the 20th ranked DT and a 3 star to getting drafted at all proves my point!

My previous statement about our record this year vs last was a direct response to you saying you're "harping on things that are literally happening." In my eyes, and everyone else's on this board besides you and the horse's ass with big ears, what's "literally happening" is we're a better football team than last year. It wasn't that hard to figure out. Yes, we laid an egg against Mizzou and to a lesser extent UK, but that happens, regardless of talent, when kids don't buy in and/or compete. It's exactly why Mullen said, "I don't care if we're thumb wrestling, I want to kick your ass." Or did you not get that point either...

I wonder if we can get all these guys to visits on days when we arent actually playing. Watching us play cant be helpful to our pitch.

Or seeing our facilities. We should make our officials somewhere else.

I don’t think they can afford the perception hit of firing someone like Richt without a serious situation. I still think uga bailed the hurricanes out, because um’s other options were almost all a considerable step down from him. By the same token, he’s clearly still the Mar Richt we all know and will likely end up being a thorn in their side for years by doing just enough to get by and being that likable personality that no one wants to be responsible for firing.

But yes, the whole state is just begging to be taken over. Hope we don’t miss this window.
