if you're military deployed to a combat zone and dont show up for games, you're a fair weather fan. noted.

Yup, I’m fair weathered because I’m not going to drop $150 on tickets, drive 4.5 hours each way, spend another $500 on hotels, food, gas, etc. for a mediocre product the UAA won’t invest in b/c women’s croquet team needs a new stadium and platinum wickets.

UAA wants my $$, then they need to put their skin in the game.

BTW, sit and spin Steve Russel, whoever the hell you are.
Only $500? I could not imagine getting out of there for less than $1K

yeah, one night in a hotel in gville, if you can even find availability is easily 300, many even more. then food, gas, etc. You're lucky if you get in and out for 500 plus tix.

We ve supported this shyt thru two coaches who purposefully put 100th ranked offenses onnthe field then pretended to clap when they hired another asshat who often puts 100th ranked offenses on the field.

Weve choked a down a decade of this shyt while they shoved 50-70 mill per year of football "profit" in their pockets.

Fvkk you Russell, and fvkk you Fooley.

He also had that idiot Chimp on today talking about this week’s game, if Chimp was in the studio Steve probably would have fellated him. Chimp talked about building up depth on the lines of scrimmage, something he never did while he was here. Chimp is and always will be a useless POS and it seems like a lot of the radio guys around the area think he’s the greatest thing to ever roam the sidelines.

I’d like to know how many games Steve would show up for, given the shyt show we’ve been treated to for the last 9 years, if he wasn’t getting paid to be there. He needs to take his holier than thou attitude and shove it where the sun don’t shine.

I'd love to know the last time Russell had to pay for a ticket.....or drive 4+ hours to a game....or pay for a hotel....or a plane ticket - on his own dime.

26+ years in the CG and never been stationed in FL. I support a family of 5 and college bills are a steady line item in the family budget. I guess for me to be a real Gator fan, my kids are expected to inherit massive debt.

I couldn’t justify travel to see the glory years of SOS and Timmy (it hurt, but that’s reality). I’m sure not going to do it now. Mr russel can kiss my enlisted bootay.

Add in the great press box seating and buffet...

I love *******s calling out people that pay time and money for their entertainment and choose to spend it on something other than this masochistic mess we call Florida Football.

Or that have paid their money and really don't want to drive to sit and watch yet another half-assed effort by their school.

Then what should they be called? I understand things come down to money and if it's worth it to folks. It's kinda like voting, though. "If you don't vote, then..". I get it, I do. He's just not completely wrong.
How bout Dan Mullen and UAA donate $1 mil each to help finance fan lodging and travel. How bout that. Jackasses.

From the past several seasons, the biggest problems areas for attendance have been the upper levels in the endzones and the student section. those upper levels can be fixed by offering more deals to locals, family packages, etc. the student section is flat out embarrassing. there's no reason to show up in the middle of the 1st qtr. they need to do something like basketball where they track who doesn't show up when they have a ticket and penalize them.

I still go to most games; but I certainly don't look down on anyone for skipping. I'm not married and live in Jacksonville, so it's about an hour and a half with traffic from my house and it's not a problem to get there and back in one day. Not everyone is that close and most people have families and kids with weekend activities, etc.

Plus, with as lame as the product has been these past few years--how could anyone realistically complain otherwise? That's why you spend money on elite coaches who can win games to bring the product to the level the fans expect.

I live in Savannah, 3.25 hrs away (obviously, that's my handle). I DO go, usually once, maybe twice a year. UAA also has to understand that UFAA (I am our Gator Club's secretary/webmaster) requests that Gator Clubs host viewing parties, and I am usually promoting UF at ours. And it's just not feasible for me to attend every game.

Indeed, this week, I'm going to see the team of the school I teach at, Georgia Southern (1 hr from Savannah) play Troy. My colleagues have been wanting me to come to an Eagle game all season, and this is the last one (unless they win and make the Sun Belt Title Game, which would also be in Statesboro), so I'm going. Kickoff is at 1, so I'll be watching the Gators on my phone, as long as I can get a signal.

If steve lends me about 15k for travel from Iowa and ticket expenses I'll gladly attend every home game. What a moron...
