I was pretty high on Kelly and Frost. Shows what I know.
As was I. The CDM hire was a huge letdown for me. Boy was I wrong.
Chip is a fvkin dumpster fire.
BUT I still think Frost will turn around Nebraska.

Just think how disappointed most of us were when we didn’t land him.
If he was going to turn Nebraska down, it wasn't going to be for UF. If CDM doesn't bring us back to championship level, maybe he will bring us to a point where we can hire a championship coach in the making.Looking back at the coaching search with the benefit of hindsight, was CDM the best available candidate? I would have to say yes.
(FTR - I wanted Frost. I still think he would have done very well at UF, but I don’t think there was anyway he was going to turn Nebraska down. )
If Chip woulda been hired by UF, CDM woulda likely went to UT resulting in 4 more horrible years for UF and both UT and UGA being better.
What kinda sick world would that have been?
And sucking in college is the way to get back to the NFL?There's no way he was this bad at Oregon. My opinion is the NFL is where he wants to be. He's clearly in "eff it" mode and he needs to get his ass fired with cause.
Mullinz would have less talent at UT than he did at Cowbell with the same or worse results. If Chip woulda been hired by UF, CDM woulda likely went to UT
We have a well-deserved reputation for being the worst managed program in P5. Coaches know that when you come here, the answer will always be no for the staff and facilities necessary to compete. If he was going to turn Nebraska down, it wasn't going to be for UF.
It isn't. He's completely finished after UCLA fires him. What a lazy ****.
Yeah I wasn’t thrilled with the Mullen hire at all. Don’t mind being wrong about this one, though. As was I. The CDM hire was a huge letdown for me. Boy was I wrong.

So there's still a chance?
The UF brass got on a plane and went out to see Chip Kelly at least once, perhaps more than once. While it was obviously never a "done deal", it was far closer than some people here are acting like it was. Kelly is the one who ultimately backed out, not UF. I suppose we should thank him for that. The only negative from the whole episode was hearing Uf fans—and not just here—listening to whoever it was(Martin, I think) and a few twitter idiots and parroting the various lines as to why it was done but not announced. Everything from it interfering with his TV money, to us locking it up but not wanting him to come home from NH with us, to NFL protocol. These were grown men and women just lapping it up and speaking of it like it was gospel. It was embarrassing.
I thought we still had a chance up until the end, but was never buying all of that nonsense.
