I thought you weren’t coming back without a win? I want a refund.

So rewatched that speed option on 4th. It was actually a great call but everyone’s favorite OL, Delance, screwed it up. He was supposed to chip the OLB but totally whiffed. That OLB was the only thing standing between the pitch, Perine, and a sure TD. Delance may be the worst OL we’ve had in years. How many plays have failed this year specifically because he screwed up?

I think you're spot on with this analysis. Upon further review it likely would have been a TD for Perine taking the pitch and running to the pylon if Delance gets even an average block on the LB. Sometimes what I think is a bad call turns out to be more about poor execution instead.

Yeah if we had tried to run that play in that same exact situation 100 times, we might have scored 2 or 3 times on it.

We have morons here who can barely handle what we have. They damn near rioted when Ox added these. These old farts cant handle change.

That’s not true. I gave Ox a ton of sh*t (‘cause that’s how we do!) and he lost it. Got pissed, took his ball and went home.

Interesting. Looked like they got the look they wanted and Trask delayed to give Delance time to get to the second level and he just missed. It was obvious that the LB was his assignment - he chased him after he missed. You don’t think that play is successful with a better RT? He was literally a foot or two from making the block and completely opening the short side. That said, why do coaches seem to favor the short side when the numbers don’t necessarily make sense? I’ve seen it from every OC we’ve had and it rarely seems to make sense.

Maybe with Delance at RT but I think it would’ve worked with a more athletic guy. Watch it a few times. That LB was the only threat on that play. Even if the DT gets through but the LB is blocked, the ball is pitched early and Perine races to the pylon unimpeded.
