Sucks for the kid. Hopefully, we'll have him back during the harder stretch of the schedule this year.

sucks for Worton. could be another season of meh from him.

i don't expect much from Wells and Cleveland at this point. they are already facing disciplinary issues and Mac said both were carrying hamstring injuries. both seem pretty far behind and haven't been mentioned at all in the press or by the staff as far as contributions in practice are concerned.

we are looking to Callaway and Fulwood to provide a threat from the wide positions. Powell and Massey have got the slot position covered. we need Fulwood to come up big, and i mean BIG, to take some of the heat off Callaway, or at least capitalize on the fact that Callaway will be getting most of the opposing defenses' attention.

sounds like Anzalone has held up so far, but we'll see what happens when the bullets start flying.

all the injured O linemen are coming back with the exception of Riles. man, if that unit comes to play this year, the running game could be special.

They shouldn't even consider letting him play until UT week. Hopefully it will heal up by then.

Thompson and Scarlett are also threats catching out of the backfield.

i've been listening to you and Mac. yes, he's been showing well and with the heralded freshmen languishing under bad behavior and injuries and Worton pulling another disappearing act, his time is now. and we need him. Fulwood hasn't proven to be anything but an underperformer and i'm worried if we're counting on him to be this year's Robinson. we need another impact WR to complement Callaway the way it seems Massey and Powell will complement each other.

If you are going to get a high ankle sprain, preseason is the time to get it. He has a couple or 3 weeks before the first game which is not that serious so he has 4 weeks hopefully to get ready to play.

Who is projected to start at the X and Z positions right now? Please don't say Fulwood...it seems like he will only be servicable as a blocker. Callaway is obviously a no brainer if he's cleared. Massey and Powell are both slot guys, but I can't imagine them not being on the field at the same time now. Will either one of them play outside? Maybe the Z? I expect Swain and Hammond to play a lot of snaps, as they've been two of the more consistent Freshmen throughout camp from the sound of things. I was hoping that Cleveland would be fighting for playing time by now because he really fits the mold of a true #1 receiver on the outside. Unfortunately, I can't see him seeing the field much now, especially early on in the season. Hope he proves me wrong.

And isn't Swain playing mostly in the slot? It seems unrealistic to think he would start over Massey or Powell.

So that's 4 WR's suspended or injured for game 1?

sorry heversle, since you don't want me to say it, I won't, but it looks like we're stuck with you know who for the short term.

Worton is hurt, and Cleveland has not materialized as the second coming of Callaway.:(

:trainwreck:

Oh NO! We suck again!

But, it all seriousness, I expect to see a lot of Powell, Massey, and Goolsby in the passing game early on. There should be a lot of carries to go around for our running backs in the first few games as well. Hope the O-line can get off to a good start and never look back.

Swain is listed 6'1" and 188. he's bigger than Massey and Powell. Freddie can grow a little more but, in a pinch, he can bang out wide if we need him to. Let the smaller guys hit the seams.

I don't think anybody's projected right now. I would think Callaway @ X, Swain @ Z, and Powell @ slot. At times both Massey and Powell will be on the field at the same time so one would be slot and one would be Z. Goolsby would probably be the Y. But many times his sets will have two tight ends. Worton should probably be starting at the Z but that dude can't stay healthy.
