UGA losing before bye-week

UGA losing at home to Vandy can only have two implications that I see:

1. UGa will come out more fired up against UF. I am not sure this is possible as I expect UF gets UGa's best shot each year. If not something is very wrong there.

2. UGa is just bad. If they are just bad, there is no fixing it in two weeks. So I know this TE has to repeat the company line, but I just do not see them fixing problems in two weeks.

I'll take door #2.

Dude, with our schedule, we are 4-1 or 5-0 at this point, every single year. Every team that is better than Kintucky would have the same record.

Yep, other than the Miami loss under Muschamp we were 4-0 or better, or had 1 loss after 5 games every year until the "real" schedule kicked in (4-0 in 2011, 7-0 in 2012, 4-1 in 2014, and 3-1 in 2015, w/ the Idaho game cancelled). "Fool's Gold".

The UGA TE's comment is the crux of how I watch games and what forms my opinions about a coach and the staff. It IS the process vs. the end results. As I said if WM's teams beat Ga. So. by 1 or we execute a punt against an awful USCe team, he might still be the coach strictly due to the final score. But clear eyes do not lie. I commend the UGA player for speaking the truth. I have no problem with the optimists just like I have no problem with the pessimists. The problem is that most of us are REALISTS, we just get classified as pessimists b/c the optimists do not like what their and our eyes see clearly.

When I watch a Gator game, I'm constantly yelling at the TV for the Gators to do better, demanding perfection at times because I know they can be better than what I'm watching, scaring my son half the time. After the game's over, I calm down and realize it's only a game.
It really comes down to the glass half full or a glass half empty conundrum. If my glass is half full, I'm gonna keep drinkin' it. If it's half empty, I'll probably top it off just to be safe. Right now, my glass is half full and I'm gonna keep drinkin' it.
Sure, we're not killin' it right now and we have some issues to iron out (recruiting for one, and suspect asst coaches) and some long term solutions (OL) - I believe even the most optimistic of us doesn't dismiss these issues and we see that the product on the field is not up to the level we would like it to be, but right now we're in the driver's seat to win the east (again) so I'm gonna continue to drink from my glass half full and hope for the best.

Optimist vs pessimist vs realist vs practicality. This is allegedly a Gator fan site. Honestly I want to hear optimism/reality/practicality. If I want to read the negatives I can go elsewhere.
I can see the problems. Anyone can see the problems. I can only presume that the casual fan thinks others can't and feel the need to point it out. You can believe/hope they will get fixed. Argue why they'll get fixed. Or just bitch that we suck or will always suck until we fire Mac and hire some ****ing roll of the dice HC. "Practically" that's not a great solution. Home run hires are by far the exception. In the end you get somebody who's good in one area but suspect in others. Plus you can't realistically hire and fire coaches every 2 years. If I have to explain why then this discussion is over your head. Continuity is important to any program. Whipsawing coaches is bad on so many levels.
Personally I hated Muschamp because I couldn't stand his brand of football not just because he's a ****ty coach. People may think I'm exaggerating but I wanted him gone in 2012 because I couldn't stand Chump ball. Sure we may win 12 games but every game was going to be 14-13 last possession wins. I stopped watching games and checking the score the next day. And I had season tickets.
Contrast that with Macball. If the team executes we score 40-60 a game by design. I've been begging for that since Daz took the reigns in 2010. Also for the first time since then I expect to win every game... by a lot. Honestly all this team needs is a QB. Everything would flow from that including better recruiting. Practically that's the best scenario for us as Gator fans. So keep your chins up or whine like little bitches. Up to you.

Great post! Totally agree about turnstile coaches, have seen what it has done to the Phins.

Foley not getting in the "arms race" also has a lot to do with our lack of recruiting - he put us behind and these entitled kids expect THE BEST these days.

Hell, when I went to UF I lived in a dorm with no A/C. We put big fans in open windows and survived. Imagine that! These days kids want resort-like conditions.

Voicing disdain is whining like a little bitch? I think not. Hijacking threads with the same BS is what I can't stand, but I'm almost convinced Mac isn't the answer. Because of that, I'd prefer to fire him now and start a new coaching search....instead of waiting 2-3 more years to do it. It's just that much longer we have to wait on the opportunity to make the right hire.
I hope I'm wrong and he can get it done, but I just don't see the improvement. I suspect many more of you will feel the same way after we go 2-3 down the stretch.

Pumpers & liberals = thin skinned
One could say the exact same thing about grown men whining INCESSANTLY on the internet about a bunch of teenagers/early 20-somethings playing a game in which a leather ball gets tossed and kicked around for 3.5 hours. One could also say the same thing about a group of people who think everything is rigged if their preferred person doesn't win an election.

See how that works?

Ummmm, you. Next question?
After speaking to BNA in person both before and after the Missouri game, I can assure you you're wrong.

I've got a bad feeling about this game. Almost every year the Underdog wins this game and that's simply because that team wants it more.

I want to see Mac actually start coaching to win. Totally prepared football team that knows all assignments and has the fire within and mean streak enough to last 4 quarters and put the opponent away. Wonder why Bama is Bama? Excellent coaching in all aspects that take away the "loser" variables through preparation and recruiting. It can be done. We should never see another performance like last year's fsu or Michigan debacles. Mac needs to get a real taste of being a winner- start coaching to win.

That and the one thing Georgia has been doing good lately is stuffing the run and we cant pass worth a damn when we get behind with the sticks.

Luke is gonna pass for 350 yds that day and we will run for another 100.
