Players say Nuss is fine they just don't run the plays called sometimes

“I mean, yeah, I honestly do because sometimes Coach Nuss calls the right play but the play isn’t run, everybody doesn’t do their assignments to the best of their ability,” said Callaway. “So the play doesn’t look like it’s drawn up, you could say.”

Appleby said Nuss is calling good plays but sometimes the players aren't on the same page and lack of execution is the result of wrong routes and other things by the players.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That still has to fall on Nuss even if the players are screwing up their responsibilities and don't know the damn playbook good evidently.

True - it starts at the top. Callaway probably thought he was helping the coaches out telling what was actually happening on a lot of plays.

Wouldn't that fall on coaching still. Hey idiots you keep running the damn play wrong either do it or you're out. Only lazy undisciplined players would do this.

David Sharpe is the only offensive player that started every game. At the end of the season we were starting 8 freshmen and sophomores on offense. There was a lack of experience and leadership on offense.

Next year we are returning practically everyone on offense. Hopefully that will translate into veteran players that know the playbook and consistently execute.

Yea but the coaches likely pound it home in practice and players dont execute the play right. Its easy to say just sit the player....when you have depth....all I know is something needs to change.

I have a hard time understanding why even 2nd stringers wouldn't know the playbook well. A rare assignment mistake once in a while but that should be it.

Either way, we knew it was coaching. Poor play calling or poor job coaching them up. Callaway just confirmed which way it was. Can't blame the kid, Butters doesn't want to censor the kids

Is there something about Florida that attracts "me first", undisciplined players? Seriously. We have had this problem for a long time. You can call the coaches out on this and you would not be wrong. But his has not been a problem that only started since Mac has been here. I can guarantee you that if you didn't hold to your assignments under Saban you would be sitting your ass on the bench.

Sounds like maybe a hostage situation as much or more than players not knowing the playbook. Happens when there's too much love and it ain't very tough.

At the end of the season, the freshman excuse goes out the window. They've had an entire season in the program. I have no idea why you continue to run to the defense of this piss-poor coaching staff. Honestly, what have they accomplished besides being the best of the worst in the SECE? Our offense is a laughingstock, our defense is great until we play anyone near the top 25 and we have the least amount of commits of any team in our conference and next to none at positions of need (dire need). How in the hell can anyone defend that?

It is on the coaches and sitting them would be the answer. But when experienced depth is an issue, you can't. With many of these guys coming back maybe it gets better.

Well wait, if we're not following the playbook plays, how is our offense so predictable as claimed??

I guess if you just shut down the run we are likely to throw an incompletion on any longer pass.
