Best Ever FOREVER!! When it came down to winning Titles, they did it ALL!! Those were rough times for the roundtable. I used to rip on them while we were winning everything. They always loved to bash Billy D and I would always let them know that they were OWNED and DESTROYED!! I think that was when I started my OWNING and DESTROYING too!! Go Gators!! Great memories!!

Was there ever a time during the second run where you felt like we would lose? I don't recall one. We were dominant on both ends but esp in the mental toughness department. And Horford became unstoppable in the paint, which made up for Noah's shoulder. I'd go to bat for that group against any of the great title-winning teams of the past 30 years, 1990 UNLV included.

Just last night I was looking at the Sports Illustrated I saved from those halcyon days. It is split down the vertical middle with Brewer on the left and Leak on the right with the headline "Year of the Gators":

I cried.

That's awesome! I may use that idea for my kids.

it's a group of short stories, so it keeps her interest to get through each one.

There's actually a few cool Florida Gator children's books. One of them is about Albert if I remember correctly.

Oh ...

And

BEST. TEAM. EVER.

If I live to be 120, I'll never have a favorite TEAM more than those guys. I knew it immediately after the coaches vs. cancer tourney in 2005 that I was witnessing something special. '04s forever. Go Gators.

Does anyone else get emotional watching those. Especially the first one where Noah is chomping at the end. Or in 2007 when the Oregon cheerleaders are shaking their arses?

I consider that moment the greatest moment in our sports history. Laugh if you want, but I have been a basketball season ticket guy for 36 years and that moment captured something that I never thought would ever happen.
And yes, to this day every time I see that I get emotional.

I can remember 5-22 in 1981-82 when we dreamed of someday, and I mean someday, making the tournament. Winning a championship was beyond ridiculous then.

I agree. I am a long time UF basketball fan and never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined UF dominating UCLA in the national championship game.

Without a doubt 07s. Little fact to be known with that team was the 1 to win back to back championships with the same starting 5 in ncaa bb history. So all those great teams can suck it

I think it being the only back to back starting 5 is pretty well known now. It was shocking to me at the tme when CBS said that in the final game telecast.

Greatest team ever imo. Had it all, defense, offense, shooting, chemistry, unselfishness, teamwork, rebounding, hustle, heart, intensity, passion, everything. I love watching/reading any stories about them

I still laugh to this day when I think about what tarheel fan said about that team. "Donovan got lucky with a group of great players and that is the only reason they won it all."
So says the fans of a team that has 5-6 McDonald's All Americans on every roster. Why doesn't UNC win it every other year?
They have great players and no show classes
