From what I remember Hill didn't even play in OT. Cheese is THE MAN!

Kasey is definitely a liability with the ball in his hands late in games. He did a decent job wearing down Koenig with the help of chiozza.

Hill is a liability, he's flat terrible on offense.
Cheese should start over him.

Sas, let's get back on topic. Please answer this question seriously and honestly:

What exactly did I state in the opening post that is not true?

Despite his liabilities he is significantly better than he was during his first two years. A friend who's a retired coach said his impression of White has grown based on HIll's improvement over the past year and a half. And he has improved.

That said, he does still do some frustrating things with the basketball in his hands. Don't think we'd be winning without his defensive efforts, though.

Mike White has developed a team with an all-in mentality and a defensive identity. Hill sparks the defensive intensity. He is an asset to the team. He's the starting PG on an elite 8 team.

I think Kasey played in OT. Not sure how much. White pulled Allen a bit because he was gassed. Bottom line is we always evaluate Hill on what we thought he was going to be and not what he actually became. In the end he is an elite defender who contributes in nearly every game in ways that do not always show up in the box score. We are not here without him.

Hill fouled someone in OT so he did play. How much is the question?

I am still enjoying the win. I'll return with some comments later.

Go Gators!

I don't follow BB that closely until the tourney. I do recall watching the first KY game and was quite impressed with the Hill. On offense he set the tempo distributed the ball well and sometimes took it to the hole. He looked like an all round good point guard who had some size and was good on D. I recall being quite impressed. He was kind of a beast. Now last night overall his offense was horrific at times he often seemed out of control. But that may also be do to WI good defense.

What I like about Hill and Cheeze is they give two completely different looks and tempos. Hill had a bad night last night offensively. But to start a thread the next morning about how he sucks is kind of a dick head move.

And Ox called Barry a waste of sperm last night. It's all good fun and I don't care but if you dish it out then be willing to take it. You ban PE then I'm out for good.

Cheers

Advancing through the tournament creates feelings like no other, but I feel we've done it in spite of Kasey Hill and his relentless boneheaded plays, blown point-blank layups, embarrassing flops, and cringe-worthy turnovers. I guess he's a decent defensive player, but he's always thought he's Michael Jordan on the offensive end. He's not.

He STILL plays like a true freshman instead of a senior. I wish Mike White would tell him to quit embarrassing himself and the team by continually driving the lane. Hell, he can't even make free throws.

Hill, I know you're reading this: stop trying to score!

Discuss.
He did make 3 or so jumpers that we had to have in the 2nd half and made 3-4 FTs in the final min...so maybe not let him do so many drives to the basket, but he still played well most of the 2nd half

Hill is a big asset on defense, that can't be understated. But man we gotta limit him on offense and not put it in his hands late.

Oh, and for the love of all things holy, please stop flopping!

There isn't a single positive trait that kasey brings to the table that chiozza isn't better at. CC is a better shooter, both from the floor and the foul line. He handles the ball better and doesn't have nearly as many silly turnovers. He is also just as good an on ball defender, and possibly even faster . So to the kasey defenders, specifically what does kasey bring to the table better than Chiozza? Why do you believe he should start?

Hill is good on defense, and that's it. He's a TO machine on offense. His assist to TO ratio this year is 1.5:1. Think about that ratio for a PG. He's an absolute bonehead.

That is where I disagree. I think with a decent shooting PG who could still defend decent we would be a much more dangerous team and a bigger threat to win it all with how the rest of the team plays off and on now.
