I'm most proud of Barry... he came in and led when the rest of the team had basically given up. That sprint and block when the rest of the D quit was just as huge as chiozzas shot.
I told my wife after the game we had to name our child after Canyon because of that clutch block and ft's. She didn't throw the idea out but she did say it would have you be a middle name.

Predictable thread but felt like he deserves his own thread. I've been VERY critical of him throughout his career but man has he improved drastically. He plays great D, has stopped turning the ball over, and his shot has even improved immensely.

What an amazing night, really happy for the guys and Chiozza especially. Also, he needs to supplant Hill asap.

Chiozza has surprised me a lot. He makes me think that next year we could be even better at PG offensively. I will say though, that Hill might be one of the best on ball defenders we have ever had...I think that's why he starts

Almost Scotty good. He had five assists in the first half I think. But Allen won that game with all those shots falling............

Why did White sit Allen so long late in the 2nd half? Why did we play the, "run the clock out" game way too early in the 2nd half?

2. If If If, Robinson second chance 3 goes or Allen does not get strip out front for an easy basket or Hayes hits his regular amount of FTs, had the officials not let the Wisconsin player go over the back of UF players each miss late in the game etc UF wins in regulation. Even if UF holds the ball rather than Allen going for a quick score out of the time out, UF may well win in regulation.
.

I won't argue with any of those "ifs" on #2, but those types of "ifs" happen to UF all the time.

If we're going to burn clock, I'd rather see Hill (or Allen, for that matter) take a good-looking mid range shot with 5-10 seconds left on the shot clock than a highly contested and sloppy layup with 1 sec left that won't make it AND doesn't draw the foul. It's almost like the chew-clock offense is "hold the ball until you throw up a prayer with 1 sec left." Just run your offense that was working!

Coach needs to call me so I can learn him a thing or two.

Been on two trains around NYC this morning. I've heard three separate conversations start this way (paraphrasing): "Did you see that game last night? That shot?" Chris Chiozza has won the hearts of New Yorkers. Definitely the talk of the city today.

He and Hill have made quantum leaps forward this year. I chalk that up primarily to their own hard work & maturation as men and players, but it is also clear that Coach White is excellent with player development, especially at guard.

I count him among the many excellent hires of the Foley era and a wonderful successor to Billy D., much like Arizona was able to find a quality successor to Lute Olson in that young Jackie Gleason guy.
