I just don't understand these guys. I hope he enjoyed the sound of the Brinks truck driving away, taking his cash with it.

It is a bit odd that the first report was he pushed her and then the next report is she had teeth knocked out.. that is a big difference. Not sure how police look at her with knocked out teeth and say.. "oh.. he just pushed her", but this doesn't look good for Caleb at all.

Really poor decision. I don't care if a woman hits you... walk away, grab her and retrain her, but don't hit her back!

Yeah - it is kind of odd:

"Authorities spoke to eyewitnesses at the scene who corroborated Brantley's account, but two eyewitnesses have since "identified Brantley as the aggressor,"

If she had that kind of injury to begin with - wouldn't he have been taken away right then and there?
I'm not excusing anything here...
I'm confused...

Mere accusations, gentlemen . . . Too many versions of what allegedly happened have already been published for anyone here to decide they actually know the facts of the matter. Let's see what happens when push comes to shove (pun intended) after an actual prosecutor and an actual defense attorney enter the case.

Nothing will happen except him dropping in the draft because she will refuse to be a prosecution witness once he promises her money and the charges will get dropped most likely. I guess he didn't offer her what she was looking for before she went and filed on him after initially trying to keep him out of any trouble. I guess if there is a video of him nailing her they could possibly go forward with the case without her.

I've been numbed by these incidents. After the A.H. thing they barely raise my pulse, as long as the players locker is empty and name tag removed.

I'm just happy he decided to leave early and not go off the rails while still on the team and depended on to contribute.
Incidents like this have happened too often in the past, negatively effecting some very important games.

You do this a week before the NFL draft? Literally millions on the line? The level of stupidity here is beyond belief.

If that's true then that would explain the discrepancies between the first report and the second.

Exactly. So would she - to the hospital, with a possible head injury. I haven't read anything to that effect. Wonder why . . .

Those first two witnesses are obviously very important. The police are supposed to include their names and contact information in the incident report. Brantley absolutely should have avoided the situation. However, I'm going to wait until all the facts are established before I decide that I know beyond a reasonable doubt what happened.

Damn and damn. Knocked one of her teeth out. The NFL is cracking down on this stuff. He'll start his NFL career being suspended. Stupid.
It will probably cost him millions in draft status as well. Good old booze most likely. It certainly doesn't appear to be a slap in self defense. Go home gentleman, and go to bed.

How is knocking a girls teeth out and knocking her unconscious a misdemeanor?

Thoughts are he may go undrafted after this.

If so an interesting question was raised; if Joe Mixon gets drafted and Brantley does not would he have grounds for a civil suit against the NFL? Obviously he would have to establish that he was draftable prior to this incident.

The NFL wouldn't be at fault, he would have to sue the 32 individual companies that make up the NFL. Then prove that he wasn't at fault for his own drop in the draft.
