And sadly, there were many, many who stuck w/ Muschamp until the bitter end....and even suggested, after his "heartfelt" press conference, that "....maybe we should have given him one more year."

...to pile on (w/ the new guy):

-Keeping Nord. WTF??????

Enough said!

I knew it was over for Zook when, despite getting 5(?) turnovers he managed to lose to LSU.

What year was this, 2004 maybe? I was at that game and I remember losing in the closing seconds, and LSU getting in a hole against us to start off the game, then inserted another QB and started chipping away from our lead. Now in Urban's first year 2005 we were playing in Baton Rouge and LSU had 5 turnovers that year and tried to give us the game and we still lost, cause we couldn't move the ball at all. After that game is when Urban teared up in his press conference and people started calling him "Urban Creyer". But at least he learned from his mistakes and adjusted the offense to better fit Leak after that.

Muschamp was completely done when he lost to Vanderbilt at home on Homecoming. We could put URG out there, and even though he couldn't see over the line we should beat Vanderbilt at home.

I knew it was over when SOS said 10 wins wasn't enough for Gator fans and Dan Snyder's money was too much...

When Spurrier had to see how would his stuff work in the NFL against the best.

I've always wondered if that decision was made when that Freshman died in Summer camp that year. Like something changed.

I knew it was over when Muschamp showed up one day at UF with his mom and dad looking to get a football scholarship and no one was there.

I'm pretty sure when a person "knows it's over" he quits watching Gators on TV and surely completely stops reading and verbosely commenting on Gator posting boards.??

I first had my doubts about Muschamp after the Miami loss. I knew that Muschamp wouldn't make it past year four, but I understood why Foley gave him that chance to prove himself. From a financial standpoint it made since, although that's only because Foley foolishly gave him a contract extension and raise prematurely. If that didn't happen, then Muschamp is let go in 2013.

For Mac I was critical of his 2nd recruiting class, but didn't have doubts until the embarrassing loss to UT. The Arkansas loss was when I knew he wouldn't make it. I hope he surprises me and proves me wrong.

I knew MooseDump was the wrong coach first game year 2 when we struggled to beat a very mediocre Bowling Green team.

T Butters will do whatever it takes to win just enough games to cover up the glaring holes to buy himself another year. I just hope the AD sees through it after this season and tells him year 4 is Sec Champs and a top 5 class or your gone.

Well:

1. Do think as you say that McElwain would like to win just few enough games as he can and keep his job?

2. Do you think it is negative as your tone seems to convey that McElwain trying to win games is a bad thing?

3. Would you really fire a coach who won the SEC but did not have a top 5 class?

4. Whose ratings would you give veto to on retaining your coach?

I agree that there were reasons to be skeptical when McElwain was hired. I agree that McElwain's two SEC East titles does not cement him in the job. However, McElwain is UF's coach and I think your conclusions should be more in line with what we would expect of any UF coach.
