Rimington? They see something I didn't? He looked good last season. I didn't see best in the country potential though.

Once TJ was put in, the O line seemed to play much better. He's got great potential to be the next great center here.

it's an incredibly early watch list.
That said, I'd say he did very well considering he was merely a redshirt freshman last season, managing to become the starter in his efforts. I think he's definitely worthy of at least the watch list.

He's a solid lineman with great potential. And YES, they did play better when he was in there. It seemed as if he was able to pick up reads very well. It appeared to me that he communicated more with the linemen, pre snap reads, calls, etc. He played my postition (center) and that player has to be responsible for calling the D alignment and blocking schemes, etc. I think that's what was the difference along with his solid play.

And at the beginning of last season he was considered 3rd string? I really hope this new o-line coach is a better evaluator of talent than our last one.

Dillard was actually reasonable last year. Much better than expected. I don't think it was just McCoy, Taylor played well too. They both seem to have a mean streak. Jordan was 2nd string and I think he was knicked too when McCoy got the opportunity. I think the OLine has some real potential, but real see.

PFF basically had TJ as the highest rated offensive player from LSU on...I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not having your center grade out like that.

Hard to see how anyone on the O line graded out too well when you average around 2 yards a carry against FSU and Bama and give up 10 sacks in those 2 games. Centers may not be responsible for many sacks but they are definitely a key to a good rushing attack. He did stick out on some plays in the LSU game that I remember.

Edit: Watched a few drives of the FSU and Bama games and McCoy did have pretty good fundamentals and seemed to do his job pretty well in pass protection when they did have someone lined up on top of him. In the rushing game he did pick his guy up pretty well also. It just looks like he needs to get stronger to have more of a push in the run game against the better D linemen.

Agree. A lot of these "watch lists" list practically every returning starting player at a particular position. Think about it; how many returning starting Center's are there in college football?

The fact that Summers had Dillard starting over McCoy last year was laughable and just one of the many stupid decisions on his part. Dude was a great kid but straight a$$ on the field and most knew it!
