Oooooof! Some interesting stuff. I'd like to see what the comments were last year (I'll try to find the thread):

SEC coaches talk anonymously about Florida ahead of season
It doesn't sound like SEC coaches believe in the Gators this season.

Can Florida absorb the loss of several key starters and win another SEC East title with a likely first-year starter at quarterback?

Lindy's preseason SEC preview is on newsstands this week and within this year's robust preview includes a portion on SEC coaches speaking anonymously about other teams.

With most of the talent in an elite secondary gone and questions elsewhere, the Gators may take a step back talent-wise according to one coach.

"They've lost a lot of good defensive players for a lot of years," one coach said. "Will there be a drop-off? Florida usually doesn't have a drop-off. Florida's in the state of Florida — they will always have good defensive players. But I think they've recruited subpar the last three years and I think it will catch up with them this year.

"I don't think Jim (McElwain) enjoys recruiting. He won't get his fingernails dirty in recruiting."

RELATED: What SEC coaches are saying about Georgia

Consecutive SEC East titles haven't impressed, one coach says, since Florida has failed to show up against chief rival Florida State and in Atlanta against the top-ranked Crimson Tide.

"Jim McElwain has been to Atlanta the only two years he's been at Florida," he said. "The problem is, his last two games of the year are against Florida State and the SEC Championship game, and he hasn't won either one. He's 0-4.

"That's when The Swamp gets full of gators. If you take Florida's teams over the last 15 years, the last two would be in the bottom third."

Preseason projections won't come out until SEC Media Days in July, but one coach isn't picking the Bulldogs — the perceived frontrunner — to win the division.
"I wouldn't pick Georgia to win the East," he said. "I pick Florida. Why? It goes back to confidence."

That's exactly what was said about Derek Dooley at Tennessee although he never won an SEC East title.

Last year one of the coaches said LDR just wasn't an SEC level QB. Pretty sure it must have been Georgia's coach since he was with him at Bama. He was right but it was funny his team lost to LDR.

Can't say I'm shocked. The recruiting comment about Mac explains some of our failures.

However, I can GUARANTEE you the anonymous SEC coach who made that last statement in the OP is chump.

How would any other coach know what ours does for recruits and what exactly is getting your fingers dirty? If it is cheating or being unethical we expect that.

It's getting off his fat shark humpin azz and actually doing the work. We've had great recruiters at UF since the 80s and only one had a cheating problem. We have also had only one who was terrible at recruiting.

No way. This must be a hater. The stuff last year about LDR was so false.

Another hater. We proudly wear our Back-to-Back t shirts.

Seems opposing coaches would praise a lousy opposing HC just so we'd keep him around longer.??

Yep that last part does sound like something Muschamp might say being a former coach here.

I don't really care what other SEC coaches say but the 0 - 4 record vs.Bama and f$u says it all. There is no doubt in my mind that this season is going to tell us which direction our program is heading. Up, down or sideways. No more excuses. Sadly, I don't have any confidence in qb position and without that, I don't see much of an upward trend.

All those coaches were obviously affected by the negativity of a few posters on GCMB.
