Well, I thought it was over when Davis fumbled out of the end zone. It just felt like UT had stolen the momentum and as usual we would just fall apart. Glad to see I was wrong. The Gators somehow found a way to win even when they were beaten all over the field. I'm not sure if I've ever seen such a display of missed tackles. Our DBs are the world's worst at it. They dive and whiff more times than they make the tackles. It's pathetic. I'd have every one of them tackling tackle dummies all week. NEVER, EVER leave your feet! You have zero control of your body once your feet leave the ground. Hit, wrap, and drive through the tackle. Gezzz I learned that at the Boy's Club. Our coaches obviously don't stress fundamentals like they should. Too too many times we were out of position (do we ever bother to cover TEs?), or completely whiff on the tackles. It's going to be a long long season if this kind of undisciplined play continues.

Final play of the game....I have very mixed feelings. I was expecting some kind of play designed to hit the sideline for about 8-10 yards and only take 3-4 seconds off the clock to move Eddie into range to win. Instead we call a hail Mary. Ballsy, yes, and it worked, but I don't think that's the typical call in that situation when you've got a kicker that can make em from 77 yards. Someone above made the comment Franks bailed the staff out and I agree. That throw was what we all knew he was capable of and have been waiting to see more usage of that elite arm. He might become something real special for the Gators if the coaches will just trust him a little bit.

p.s. I broke two casters on my foot stool slamming it on the floor in a rage during this game...so much anger at seeing my Gators playing like they've never practiced or had any coaching. They deserve better.

p.p.s. So I've been corrected multiple times now, it wasn't actually a hail Mary play. It was intended to go to the sideline as I expected, but Franks was flushed out of the pocket and a DB peeked a tad bit too long and Cleveland got behind him and Franks threw an absolute strike from 63 yards away. Amazing play by Franks and Cleveland.

There is no swagger with this team and I believe it's a result of Mac's laid back, aw shucks attitude. Like it or not, that swagger is a sign of confidence. This team plays not to lose and their body language shows it. There is too much talent on this team to have the pathetic offense we have and it all goes back to coaching. No discipline, no attention to detail, no swagger tells me everyone is going through the motions. Where is Lawerence Wright, Lawerence Oliver, Percy, Hernandez (RIP), Pounceys killer attitude and swagger? These days no swagger = no confidence.

I was so disgusted with the Michigan loss I didn't watch this game. I can't believe we one on a last second miracle TD! LOL. I almost feel sorry for the hillbillies. Thanks for posting the end.

Good ole rock flop.
You only missed one play and saved 4 hours of your life, not to mention the 10 years you would have lost from the stress and aggravation of watching this mess. D was good but gassed. Offensive talent still underutilized. It was like watching a preseason WNBA game.

We won because two kids decided to play backyard ball and a CB broke off coverage when Franks rolled out of the pocket. That doesnt excuse the stupidity and absolute defeatist attitude of the staff. They were going to take this in to OT with 2 TO left on the board and the team bailed their sorry asses out.

This. A big heaping pile of this. Cleveland broke into a post also bc he saw Franks scrambling right. He was running a fly. Our coaches had zero to do with this.

Great line here
"
F"ormer Auburn head coach and current SEC Network analyst Gene Chizik took things further after the game.
"We've just got to get Butch a nice tie for when he's sitting next to me up here on set next weekend," he said during the SEC Network postgame broadcast (h/t Will Lowery)."

Well a bunch of missed FGs and a dropped sure TD pass by the chuggers didn't hurt us either. Lets face it, we love to win the game, especially on a dagger to the heart of the vols like that, but it was not good football. That clock management before the Hail Mary was Ringling Bros worthy assclownmanship.

Can you imagine if the Gators choked this game away in a week when a vol fan pissed on Tebows statue? To win that game in that way was thrilling but the coaching is dubious. Gators may have found their quarterback and a running back too once he learns not to get stripped.
