he needs to learn to recognize those situations and have the freedom to change the play at the line if he sees a bad match-up.
He doesnt have any freedom. Plays come from the sideline. Im not even sure Nussdump changes plays (rather than just following the script).

Just like the sideline screens that I hate, hate, hate because we do it too much. .
You didnt watch Trailerbammer much bc that is all Butters ever did.

Saban can get away with being a dick because he is a winner.

This inbred Montana yokel posing as our HC can't.

I had other things going on, but I never saw a Florida receiver separate. Every throw I saw Franks make was into tight coverage. Was that because he picked the wrong guy, or because we ran ****ty routes.

I think it's the playcalling. Multiple times we had bunches running on one side right on top of each other.

Every time we executed a slant to slow down the blitz, there was more than enough separation.

Weve developed a theory around here that a receiver isn't open unless he's got two steps on the corner back. that just isn't the case . it certainly was never the only time we could throw in the Spurrier era. you have to make the right throw and it has to be thrown to where the receiver has the better angle than the DB, but the truth is DBs are playing DB because they can't catch well enough to be a wide receiver.

only the hyper-conservative think you can't pass unless the DB slipped. we need rid of the chump mindset.

He is rightfully raw as a RS-Freshman. With a decent QB-coach & OC, Franks can "command" a prolific offense. .. i.e. He may have earned some leadership rights & respect today by showing good QB-instincts in .09 seconds urgency.

1) Get an S&C coach who can add muscle-weight & strength to the OL.
2) Replace present nutritionist who thinks keeping guys' weight down will better serve their health in life after football.
3) Give him (by practice) quick-pace playcalling. Get off more O plays & get ball quicker in hands of playmakers.
4) Can incorporate quick-strike crossing routes, not 5 yards but 10 yards 'cause Franks throws it on a rope that far hard.
5) Can go longish more frequently.
6) Let K.Toney & M.Davis get more O plays more often. [+he's got Cleveland,Hammond,Swain,... uhh where's his TEs?]
7) Employ planned runs for QB Franks.

We got a true freshman DB who has 2 pick-sixes in 2 games!!
Like I've declared: "UF needs to clean house coach-wise." God, McBBQ's national TV dispersion of Franks' game winning thinking, escaping, eyes kept downfield, & excellent pass =
"What did you learn about your young QB today coach?" shrugs ... "Well, I learned he can throw it far." reshrug. Fire'em up HC. Coach ZenXanex.

There were moments of...improvement? But, for the most part, he needs a solid run game. He isn't a dominant gun slinger who's going to beat good defenses. We need running backs who can keep the ball in their hands.
Not so sure about that assessment. It was joked that Mac was the quitequarterback whisperer when he was hired, but it seems he's actually the quarterback destroyer. I haven't seen one quarterback "improve" under his tutelage during his tenure here.

He's resilient. After a bad INT he could have folded. He made a great play with his legs and his arm. He should have known to call the timeout, but anyone should have known to call that.

Probably. But the coaching staff should've called it. This is only his second game. That's on them.
