Wilson didnt get a pick today but he looked real good. The young corners are a bright spot

I wasn't sure what thread to put this in. We don't really have one for the defense. But since Henderson is on defense I'm putting it in here.

What a remarkable play by Polite. A 280 pound DE that runs down the RB all the way downfield to make the play. Remarkable effort.

Polite also made a great play on a 3rd down and chased down the QB short of a 1st down. I agree that overall the frosh CB's played well. Made some mistakes, but for the most part were in the right spot and made a good share of plays. Goodness knows we need that b/c we struggle getting QB pressure.

Gardner did not play particularly well. Missed some really important tackles that sprang for big gains. However, it looks like he had an ankle injury. So it kind of makes sense.

Wed be alot better on first and second down w Polite and Taven Bryan at DE and Slayton, Clark, Campbell at DT.

Those flyweight DEs dont work n running downs.

No. And Slaton may well be our best rusher anyway. Nothing blows up a play like a big beast like Slayton getting immediate pressure up the gut.

Our flyweight DEs are getting tossed like ragdolls most plays. We are lucky Voles were too stupid to exploit it.

I noticed that play at the time. Slaton was also there. Nice work by those two.

Sure didn't help that Nuss's play calling kept the defense on the field longer than we wanted to see. You could see the D was gassed late in the game.

Except he bit on the fake. That's why he had to play catch-up. But yeah, great hustle. Probably saved a TD.

There's no way Polite is still 280. He's made some plays this year due to being a lot quicker/faster than last year

Henderson scares me. Not good in run support and will have to get better. But he's light in the poot and playing against men. He's got the speed, however. Hopefully he gets more physical as he grows and develops.

He was NEVER 280. He played last year at around 250. He is maybe 260 this year.

Really?? The guy has two pick sixes in his first two games and he scares you because he's light? I think he'll be alright. The confidence boost from two huge plays might accelerate his development.
He and Marco Wilson have been really impressive. Wilson reminds me of Haden. Henderson looks like Ratliff to me.

Gardner got run over by Kelly in the 1st quarter. So yeah u agree we haven't looked great tackling from the DB spot in run support. Joseph, Moon and Reese have been ok though.

It was an amazing effort. I rewound the recording to watch that development again. Should never have gone that far to begin with, due to sloppy tackling, but great hustle.
