Gardner did not play particularly well. Missed some really important tackles that sprang for big gains. However, it looks like he had an ankle injury. So it kind of makes sense.
He missed a ton of tackles and his "injury" certainly didn't stop his jaw from jacking off. So sick of that shît.

Really?? The guy has two pick sixes in his first two games and he scares you because he's light? I think he'll be alright. The confidence boost from two huge plays might accelerate his development.
He and Marco Wilson have been really impressive. Wilson reminds me of Haden. Henderson looks like Ratliff to me.
Really. Pick sixes were great plays, no doubt, but right now, coverage is his best quality and he's still learning that. I, too, think he'll be alright, but it's going to take time and reps for him to be more consistent. As far as tackling and run support, aging size and strength will bring confidence that is needed to take on a solid back or a physical receiver and either bring them down or be able to hang on until help gets there. He's not there yet. If you recall, in the Michigan game, it was he and the back at the line of scrimmage on the flank and he absolutely got out of the back's way, without any contact, and let him run by and stood and watched. He's got a ways to go in the tackling department and is still growing his football set.

Gardner got run over by Kelly in the 1st quarter. So yeah u agree we haven't looked great tackling from the DB spot in run support. Joseph, Moon and Reese have been ok though.
Gardner needs to talk less and perform better. Standing flat-footed allowed him to play rooster to Kelly's semi! Poor fundamentals. Coaching issue in my opinion. Agreed about the young LBs. Biggest thing with them is poor angles (fundamentals) and fatgue (offensive/coaching issue).

I swear we have the smallest players in the league.
Butters just noticed this and that we arent strong after the Meetchikin game. Im sure he will get working on it.

I have great confidence.

I'm happy for him (and for the team) that he's gotten these pick-sixes. Like I said in another thread, I hope he carries the ball the right way and hustles into the endzone.

Good for him on the picks. Go Gators!

I'm with you, cover. Being a freshman, I'm hoping Henderson adds the kind of bulk that Percy did prior to his sophomore year. Love Gardner, but less talk and more discipline is definitely needed.

The pick six yesterday was a gift. He was in position to tackle should the WR come down with the ball, and I'll give him credit for being in the right place and making the catch, but that was a gift from a high throw and a WR that only touched the ball to pop it up and gently into CJ's hands.

Wilson I liked, a lot, yesterday. In coverage, his man rarely had room to breathe and he turned his head when the ball was coming. Henderson, on the other hand, scares me like any normal freshman in the SEC. There were a lot of times were it looked like his had more than enough room to beat him, or he lost the guy, and I'm not even coming near the 'lightweight on tackling' aspect as I hope that will come as he gets more meat on his bones and toughens up for SEC play. But the mental aspect has me scared....it can be coached, but we're relying on him NOW. If I was an opposing OC, I know exactly who I'd be picking on most passing plays.

Early scouting reports were that Wilson was already good with technique, while Henderson might possibly redshirt due to raw talent that needed coaching. Surprised he's doing this well already. But yeah, needs experience and improvement.

Just wondering the status of Duke Dawson, I'm not even sure what his injury is. We need him back, two freshmen corners is asking for trouble.
