What's funny is, as soon as he let it go and I saw Cleveland running alone and getting behind the defender, I yelled "OH SH*T!!!!" as I jumped to my feet.

Aren't your seats up in that area of the south endzone where the catch happened? And why the hell weren't you on your feet to begin with?:nono:

I was ready for overtime, especially after Mac bungled the sh*t out of the time management on that drive. Was fully expecting a 15-20 yard pass attempt followed possibly by a long FG attempt. Then Franks decided to load the football in the bazooka. But yes, he caught it basically right in front of us (albeit we're up pretty high).

A Hail Mary pass is a very long forward pass in American football, made in desperation with only a small chance of success. In the Hail Mary pass all receivers run straight toward the end zone and the quarterback will make a long pass that is often "up for grabs". The term became widespread after a December 28, 1975 NFL playoff game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings, when Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach (a Roman Catholic) said about his game-winning touchdown pass to wide receiver Drew Pearson, "I closed my eyes and said a Hail Mary."[1] Previous to this play, a last-second desperation pass had been called several names, most notably the "Alley-Oop."

I actually prefer the term walk-off TD in our case.

Hail Mary was an unintended compliment to Franks' arm. Most quarterbacks can only dream of throwing the ball that far. Franks actually did it with the intention of leading the streaking receiver after reconsidering running with the ball. The guy's got a cannon.

I'm starting to wonder if it might be a matter of just cutting loose Franks and his receiver corps. Sling the damn ball around. If we go down because of it at least we'll go down fighting instead of with plays that looks like we have the proverbial thumb stuck up our azz. Franks looks to have a cannon arm WITH accuracy which is rare if you think about it. If only now we can see if Franks can do reads on defense.

Franks for "on-field" OC ... to overrule the booth tool.

I was anticipating overtime as well. We were taking the missus out for her birthday and were to leave after regulation. I t told c2 Jr. just seconds before the play "well I guess we'll have to listen to overtime in the car!" Frank's saved me from having my Gator card suspended or revoked! But at my age, it's "happy wife, happy life!" Last night, I had two wins. Rare.

Yeah, my first reaction (after getting up out of the floor) was "Hail Mary" my a$$! That was one hell of a play by two very talented young players who overcame inept coaching and won a game the staff seemed determined to pi$$ away. I firmly believe that if that game goes into OT-we lose. Sorry, but the vibe after the time-clock blunder was mucho sucko. Also, we all know (or should) that we beat a team that has an even more verklempt staff than we do - and I'm not counting on that to be the case too often. I live in TN so I'm enjoying their misery while trying to forget my own for a while. One thing we can all agree on is **** TN!

Yo Mac, before you stifle your young QBs confidence this week because you think a FG with Eddie had a better probability... (1) clean your clock management debacle first and (2) watch the film, Cleveland is streaking open and waving his hands, your QB saw it while being flushed out of the pocket and hit him... your young QB saved your lousy ass bacon on this one. Go Gators!!

Which wouldnt have happened bc fvkking butters let 12 second run while waiting on a first down measurent.

If we HAD hit that crossing route, time would have expired. Just stupid coaching.

20 seconds... wife was counting using the "Fck McElwain" method... 1 Fck McElwain, 2 fck McElwain

It was still "luck" in the sense Tennessee played the dumbest defense I've ever seen and let him get behind the secondary. Doesn't matter what the technical term is, 9/10 times that play does not happen.

Yes... the D was horrible, but part of football is taking advantage of another team's mistakes. This team did that on the last play. That was not a Hail Mary at all... Cleveland was open and Franks threw a great pass. No different than any other QB hitting any other open WR.

How many times have you seen other offenses capitalize on our mistakes? That is what a good QB does.
