The Dabo Swinney/Mac Myth

I've read this comparison over and over and I feel the need to dispel this myth being perpetuated.

Myth: If we fire Mac after 3 seasons we won't get to see the Dabo like turn-around.

TRUTH: Dabo won the ACC in his third full season as head coach. We would have never fired him. I firmly believe that we would have give him at least 3 full seasons to see what he could do. I mean we gave Chump 4, right?

So, this false premise going around needs to be addressed. It's a sad narrative and the truth should be told.

The main point of comparison is in creating a "family atmosphere" that lures recruits. The resemblance between what our recruits are saying now and what Dabo's have said all along is uncanny.
This, of course, makes firing asst coaches more difficult as well.

It's a disgrace to Dabo to even have this thread up. They should never be compared ever. Imo the only thing they have in common is they are both white. 1 is a coach 1 is an imposter.

I've read more things along the lines of...if the pitchforkers had their way then we would have fired Dabo prematurely. When IN FACT, that isn't true. No one's firing the guy after two seasons. He would get that 3rd year too no matter how much the negators hated him.

Your thread just gave me the opportunity to post on an odd similarity. Evidently "feels like home" and "the players and coaches really like each other"" are the golden key to successful recruiting. I am neither for nor against pitchforks.

Yeah. it isnt. everyone on the planet hates Saban and yet he hauls in the recruits.

Above all, kids want to win.

It is not all about wins and losses. Clemson fans were able to see a product on the field that was consistently improving. Like I've said before, I do not mind losing, if the opposition is legitimately better than us, and we are at least competitive with them. Barely scraping by the teams we should be beating, only to then get totally blown away by the teams we should be competitive with does not make anyone believe that things are improving at UF. Hell, at times, we seem to be trying to find new ways to get worse. We cannot continue hoping each week that we get to play against a coach as dumb as Butch Jones, or a DC as clueless as whoever the hell the guy is at Kinsucky. Thank God for those morons, but we need to figure out a way to save ourselves from our own special little breed of stupid that we call Butters.

Big difference is when Dabo struggles he's still upbeat and praises his team in an upbeat fashion when they pull out squeakers. He doesn't cry and try to cover up his cut marks on his arms in his pressers the way Mac does. Jesus you could air Macs pressers on the WB and kids would find it too depressing even for them.

Who is comparing the two? Maybe a poster or two? Outliers? This is the first I'm hearing of it.

You want to know what has made him successful? Recruiting. 5 star offensive skill position players from Florida. And 5 star DT and DE players virtually every year.
