(from Marty Cohen), this is ridiculous....and there are literally people who want to keep the OC (Nord isn't getting much love, but Nussmeir is - for some unknown reason):

Some (forgettable) numbers of note:

* It’s beyond ridiculous that in six games, Florida has not recovered a fumble. Florida is now the only FBS team in the nation to not pounce on a loose ball, and including FCS teams, 252 squads in all, only Florida and VMI have yet to recover a fumble in 2017, and VMI is 0-7 with a 13-game losing streak. Since 1950, only one Gator team has recovered less than six fumbles in a season, when the 2009 edition (of all teams) recovered just three . . .

* Florida is just 5-13 against the SEC West since the 2010 season . . .

* Florida has given up a whopping 223 yards in punt returns in six games, by far the most in the nation . . .

* Florida stands No. 105 in the nation in total offense, averaging just 351.2 yards per game. The Gators have reached 400 yards just once in the last 13 games (Vanderbilt a few weeks back), since piling up 523 on Missouri last season. More than half the FBS teams (68) are averaging 400 yards a game . . .

* Only four teams have thrown fewer touchdown passes than Florida’s four so far – Georgia Southern (3), Rice (3), Troy (2) and Army (1). Winless Georgia Southern has attempted only 74 passes in five games, while Troy is actually averaging a healthy 253 yards a game in the air, Rice is 1-5 and has been out-scored 218-70 and Army has completed eight passes in seven games. Opponents have thrown for more passing yards than Florida in every game in 2017 . . .

* Want to know why the SEC East is so weak, again – try horrible offenses. Five of the seven teams in the division are in the bottom 30 nationally in total offense – Florida (No. 105), Kentucky (106), South Carolina (112), Tennessee (116) and Vanderbilt (124), with Georgia (36) and Missouri (41) the outliers.

Don't worry Mac is the next Dabo....at least some on GSMB think so...Yikes.

"So, Coach Mac can take comfort in the fact that Clemson NEARLY RAN DABO out of town. I, personally, admire Coach Dabo. The man knows football! And we’re told Coach Mac and ‘Nuss ”know football” here in Hogtown. But my point is -still- simply this: CAN MAC AND ‘NUSS WIN OVER FLORIDA FOOTBALL FANS, like Coach Dabo did in the last 2 football seasons"

"I see the bigger picture beyond a couple of games. Good things are happening in Gainesville and momentum is building. It’s more important than ever to support the team this season. Many players are having to step up to fill roles they would have been a backup."

It’s actually beyond belief that you can see those figures and even entertain the idea of retaining the staff. This is some of the worst special teams play in the history of college football.

And we're about to play the best (highest ranked) team on our schedule. I can't wait to see the new "numbers" after that game. UGA's D is ranked 4th nationally and their offense is rolling.

It's going to get real ugly before November arrives...(then we get to visit Muschamp)...

On the Dabo note, I sent Steve Russell into a segment long rant on Wednesday by tweeting why no one mentions Dabo firing his OC when they talk about Clemson's patience. :lmao2: He went onto a straw man rant about how good staff's get raided and Morris was hired somewhere, he refused to address the follow up tweet that corrected that Morris was hired after Dabo fired the previous guy. He also ignored a question that was simple, how many sub-100 offenses are too many. :lmao:

And yet,.....we managed to find probably the only 2 idiots, Mac and Chump, capable of such a feat....back to back. Now that is truly amazing.

I remember there was one year under Meyer, might've been '07 can't remember specifically, but it was deep into the season like game 8 or so, and we hadn't given up a single yard in punt returns until then. The special teams coverage and return games are atrocious, we don't even attempt to block kicks and half the time we let the punt bounce and roll 20 yards. We fair catch inside the 10, and we return kickoffs out of the end zone. This may actually be a worse coached area than the damn offense. We've been very fortunate to have an outstanding kicker and punter to help cover up some of these deficiencies. The fact that Mac has allowed this area to get so bad, is proof that he don't have a damn clue how to manage a football team.

Absolutely they COULD. IF they started lighting up the scoreboard every week and winning games by large numbers they would be loved. Fans are a fickle bunch and will love what you have done for us lately. Would we still LOVE butters? Maybe not because he is just so damn dislike-able. It would be in everyone's best interest here for him to do very well and avoid having to find another coach but we see the writing on the wall.
